Introducing Aether, Your PBS Envoy
Hello folks!
My name is Troy ‘Aether’ Hewitt, the newest member to the Flying Lab team. My official title is Envoy, Pirates of the Burning Sea, or, PBS Envoy for short. A native Seattleite, I come to this position with a long history of experience working with online communities. In my last position, I worked at Monolith Productions as the Online Community Specialist and the Community Events Lead for a little game called The Matrix Online.
Now I know what you are thinking: What the heck is an Envoy? As the PBS Envoy, I take on many of the duties and responsibilities one might find assigned to a “Community Manager”, but it goes far beyond that. I’m the one whose primary responsibility is to make sure we get updates out to the fans. It’s easy for people to get head down into their work, and forget that there is a legion of fans out there who want to know what’s going on. I’m here to make sure that we maintain the active channel. That means chasing down people to make sure we get out dev logs, new screenshots, flags reviewed, you name it. And I’m the one who’s tasked to think about new ways we can spread the word about how fun Pirates of the Burning Sea really is.
While I am very much looking forward to getting to know the community-at-large, I’m not replacing the group that’s already here. We’re going to continue the hands-on community involvement you’ve come to expect, except there will be a steadier supply of new dev logs, screenshots, and forum responses. I’m not here to just filter, regurgitate or dilute bits and pieces of information to the PBS community; rather, I am here to amplify the already phenomenal connection between our dev team, and our current and future fans.
As you can imagine, I’ve got to spend some time getting settled in here at the Flying Lab offices. Even so, I would like to take this opportunity to get to know you a little better. If you would, please take moment to read the following questions, and share your thoughts with us at our Forums. Please feel free to answer as many, or as few, as you wish!
Without further delay, here come the questions!
∙Do you have a website devoted to Pirates of the Burning Sea? If so, please share the URL:
∙As a member of the PBS community, what are you most looking forward to seeing in the game world?
∙As a member of the PBS community, what game-related feature are you most concerned about?
That’s all for now folks, I’m really looking forward to reading your responses!
Until then,
Cheers!
Troy ‘Aether’ Hewitt

It's good to see he's getting back on his feet
-
i wonder if he likes that job....
it's good to know he's still working though... and not out under a bridge... so to speak.

Yeah, but i miss him..........alot. Imagine how cool this game would be right now if he and his people were still around. I found out today there was actually 13 people on the LET, after reading that I ran some google searches on the LET and found this article http://www.bostonphoenix.com/boston/games/os/documents/04679713.asp its a good little read.
