Just got back from the premire showing. It was awesome, the Dean of Men gave a friend of mine four tickets to go see it at 6:45 today, and it was pretty much the bomb diggidy forshizzle. :)
-
I can't wait to see that movie. Just dunno when im gonna get around to it... hopefully over my break... got 5 exams comin up starting Saturday... so if I go MIA... thats why.
-
I hope it's not as kiddie as the trailer makes it seem. I hear they are great books and I love medeival epics so I'm sure I'll see it. It's nice to see good reviews so far
-
seeing it tommorw night
-
I downloaded the game. It's pretty much a kid game with collecting a lot of coins and hitting a lot of wolves with sticks. I'm going to go see the movie tomorrow, I think.
-
Yeah I have 5 exams in the next two weeks...... But when has school even been a priority? :p
PS. Yeah I've been wanting to see that movie. I hope it won't disappoint.
-
More faithful to the book the LotR was, and it was awesome. I have a new top ten movie.

It's always been my dream to hit a virtual wolf with a virtual stick.

Sounds like WOW to me.
-
So, is the movie kiddy at all? I hate kiddy movies.
-
From what reviews Ive read it kinda copies LOTR battle scene wise.
-
I'm gonna go see the movie in about an hour. Last night all three screens were sold out to it. Craziness!
-
we tried going last night.. but we have free passes and we can only use them before 6pm
we'll prolly go tomorrow.

WoW is good stuff. The community sucks, but damn if they didn't get the gameplay right.
-
If it seems like LOTR to anyone cuz of the battle scenes, it's because WETA was in charge of this one too.

I disargee. LotR battle scenes were EPIC. LWW were good, but they weren't epic. The story wasn't about the battle, it was about other things. You can't tell me that the Battle of Gondor was equal to the battle of Naria. (But I swear that the canyon used in LWW was the saw one in LotR:FotR.)

Guys this was one of the best movies i've ever seen in my life. I would say this is up there with my all time favorites. This movie is one that I can't wait to share with my children someday. The fact that it's disney blows my mind too.
What an incredible incredible incredible job.
If some of you haven't seen this yet, go see it. It'll make you feel like a little boy again.

Well I personally like kiddy movies,
Natalie Portman (13) in Leon (The Professional)
Keira Knightley in Episode I (14) and Bend it like Beckham (17)
Emma Watson (15) in the Harry Potter Films
Dakota Fanning (11) in anything :-D
Call me a pedophile if you will, but I wasn't wrong about Portmann, she turned into a smokin hottie as well as Knightley and if you all saw Goblet of Fire, Watson is shaping up nicely too.
That said, nobody in CoN caught my eye.

Umm, Natalie Portman was in Episode I, not Keira Knightley. But Keira did appear topless in a movie before she was 18 too. And the french chick in Goblet of Fire was topless in a scene too, but if you frequent the college sites you would have knew that already. (<-- had to put that in there as my reasons for knowing the nudity about them, didn't want to seem like a prev, oh wait, I don't think this covers it, maybe I shouldn't post this message........... na,)
-
HAHA Dago! Emma Watson.lmao
-
Actually both Knightley and Portman were in Episode I
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0120915/ (portman was legal by Ep I which is why I didn't include her as being in that one as a child)
PWNED!
-
I did get owned, didn't know that was her. Guess I'll have to stop myself from buring all the DVDs I find of them now.
-
Just saw Narnia last night, Disney was smart enough to hire a good screenwriter and cast, as well as pay WETA to get everything accomplished.. It was very good, and at first I thought it would've ruined the winning streak that fantasy movies have had lately, but it only made things better. Hopefully when they find a screenwriter for Prince Caspian, he'll do a good job too, in fact I think they might've already found one, not sure.. They might as well have stuck with the same guy. WETA did an awesome job yet again with their cgi and customes.
-
WETA ?
-
Computer guys that worked on LotR.
-
Credits said ILM though.
-
WETA and ILM working on the same project?
edit: just IMDB it, and they did. KNB was in on the movie too. No wonder it was so great.
-
yeah they used massive 2.0 or something, weta desigend it for lotr and used it in many movies after, and people have used it for commercials too.. more info here: http://massivesoftware.com
-
Yea, I'm sure both WETA and ILM worked on it. Movies nowadays have so much CG they need more than one effects house to get the movie out on time. I know that 3 different effects houses worked on I, Robot (one was WETA also.) The stuff they did in LOTR really proved how amazing they are when it comes to massive battles and beautiful backgrounds and stuff.
I'm sorry, but someone had to do it... http://www.devilducky.com/media/39845/

Lol that video rocked.
-
I have one complate. It moved the story too fast. I also like the BBC version of it.
-
Yeah haven't gotten to see those yet, I know that all of 'em were around 3 hours though.
-
went and saw the movie yesterday, simply put... i liked it :p
-
If some of you haven't seen this yet, go see it. It'll make you feel like a little boy again.
thanks, but no thanks
i was impressed with how closely this one followed the book, in comparison to lotr and even harry potter (which i was forced into watching b/c my sis got them for christmas)
and if you think the movie went fast, they actually dragged out what's in the book. the book is barely 100 pages long (depending on the version and such, of course)

Come to think of it, I kinda feel like a little boy right now.
Especially if you slow cook it with just the right seasonings. Mmm Mmm, rotisserie kid. Now that's good eatings.
I also feel like a beer.
-
I have read the book. The move wsa to fast pace it kept pushing it seem, but it is still a good movie.
-
Too fast paced, huh? Kinda sounds like the Harry Potter movies in comparison to the books.
