Title: Early Christmas gift
Post by: Manic Velocity on December 19, 2005, 10:32:54 pm
Had to show off my new toy...

Old and busted (had this since 1999):

New hotness (yes, I actually set Matrix code as the wallpaper):

If anyone knows where to get the ringtone from the Matrix Reloaded phone, hook me up.  :)

OMGWTF!!! Sweet, now you can hakxorz with a razorz

Well, I use this program for mine:
http://free.hostdepartment.com/m/motorules/

You need to get a USB cable for that though (if you have a PSP style USB cable, it works the same.)

You can also go here:
http://mobile17.smashsworld.com/login/

Create a profile, upload the song, and they can send you 30 secs. from that song in your choice of email or text message and stuff

"A digital pimp, hard at work."

And in the words of Will Smith:

"I feel like I'm gonna break this d@mn thing!"

Is that the v2?  Did they have software issues or was it just a rumour?

And more importantly, how did you hurt your finger?  :p

Actually, I handled it very delicately for the first couple hours that I had it.  The thing is so thin it feels like it might snap in half if you push the buttons too hard.  But it is friggin' sturdy.

It's the first edition Razr.  I've heard of software issues on the v2, but I wasn't willing to buy one just to find out if it was all true.

As for my finger, I sliced it open while doing manly things with a bandsaw.  Actually, the weather in Utah has gotten very dry and my cuticle started to crack and peel.  I'm a huge wuss.  :p

I know this is an old thread that I am bringing back but I have a relavant reason.

Cause I am looking to get a cheap little pre-paid phone thing from T-Mobile and they have two phones that I want to choose from, the Razor or the Samsung...

Razor (https://www.t-mobile.com/shop/phones/Detail.aspx?class=prepaid&device=723b0fa3-9110-4a13-844a-d78bcb152597)

Samsung (https://www.t-mobile.com/shop/phones/Detail.aspx?class=prepaid&device=c7c9aa84-1e91-496d-aa41-9cb01cd11019)

Is there really a big advantage to having a razor over a standard kinda thing. Anyway be interesting if manic has an opinion of his a year later.

The only thing that really bugs me about the Razr is the UI can be very sluggish.  Menu actions don't register immediately after pressing the appropriate button.  If you don't mind things like that, it's a nice phone.

Also, I ended up making a Matrix ringtone.  If anyone wants it, let me know.  :)

Oh really? Was it the ringing sound of the movie cell phones? Actually I know nothing about ring tones I take it different phones have different quality ringers... lol

Keep in mind that the V3 doesn't have a lot of room on it for songs/videos/pictures.  The V3C, however, has plenty of room, as well as a higher resolution picture (1.3 megapixels on the V3C vs. the 640x480 on the V3).  Not sure if they offer it or not.  I got mine through Alltel.

Ooh me me me me! I'm all about some ringtones. Right now I have a crappy version of a Skindred song (don't ask, it was a gift). Could I steal the Matrix one from you Manic?

Matrix Ringtone (http://geeksyndicate.net/manic/MatrixRing.mp3)

I took the "Mission Accepted" sound effect from the old MxO sound effects pack and removed the "click" from the end of it, and extended the actual ringing for an extra second or so.

Download the file, put it on your phone, set it as your ringtone, voila!
