We are sorry to announce that the External Playtest server will not be opening until after the holidays. The team has been working hard to implement the Combat Revision 2.0 changes on our experimental branch, but there are some remaining issues that make it unfeasible to ask players to test the system at this time. We appreciate the community’s enthusiasm about testing CR2.0 and want to make sure that your first experience with the changes is a positive one.
The timing of making the Combat Revision 2.0 changes to the live game is based upon getting community feedback from the Experimental Playtest server and having time to act upon that feedback. We believe the changes are critical to the continued success of The Matrix Online and will not be releasing the changes to the live game until they are ready. We will determine the release date of CR2.0 once we have the External Playtest server open and the community has had time to submit feedback to the team.
This was not an easy decision for the team to make as we are excited about putting Combat Revision 2.0 up for the community to review. We hope you understand our reasons for delaying the opening of the External Playtest server and appreciate your patience.

yeah that sucks... i was hoping id get home and be able to set all that up... ah well... guess i'll start collecting hats, and snowballs

SURPRISE!
We all know that more testing by the players stops bugs like the hacker leak and other major stuff. So lets delay it as much as we can because NPC doing no damage is really really really really really really REALLY bad thing! gawd.

Nice job SOE, Nice job.

Lithium called it yesterday in TS when I said I hope things go smoothly, and he said when has MxO ever gone smoothly. "You were right Lithium, your always right...It was inevitable."

"You were right Lithium, your always right...It was inevitable."
Sadly I am usually right

The Matrix Online - "Hope, pray, and beg for the best... expect it to all get pushed back at the last minute. And don't forget to use the forums to vent every little gripe you have."
Could be worse, I guess. I'd rather them push QA back a few weeks, than not open it at all and just release another unbalanced and buggy combat system which they would eventually fix over a 12 month period.

Or they could do like SWG did with the NPE, and completely change the game without any wide-range playtesting, what little there was done was mostly using people who hadn't played the game before, and with positive feedback from only one of the 20 some odd profession correspondents.

"Nothing ever goes quite right... especialy not..." something run by SOE.
