I don't know what Trigun is, but I'm guessing anime? Unfortunately I don't watch anime (I know, I know, I hear I'm missing a lot), but I had a friend draw this for me.

Just got home from seeing it.
Ill post a indepth review later on, but I will say that V for Vendetta was an amazing movie.
-
OMG awesome movie!
I laughed my ass off at V's opening dialogue and was waiting for anyone to walk out of the theatre. Thankfully, no one left and it was an amazing show until the bitter end. Highly recommended to everyone.
-
I just went and watched it again tonight. I now officially love this movie.
-
Anyone else felt like she should have said "Remember, Remember" as she pulled the lever?
But other then that, it was a great movie. I put in at number 8 on my top ten.
-
Awesome movie :D
It was more of an artistic movie than anything else. It was just this one big extended metaphor. :p
-
I still haven't seen it. I might go with my roommate tonight since I have the night off.
-
Vash is a tool. lol
BLASPHAMEY!!!
Anyway I'm seeing it later today, I can't wait!!!
You think that's blasphemy? The creator of Trigun made GunGrave, and for GunGrave OD(Over Dose), which is the 2nd game in the GunGrave series, he ended up making two characters who were reincarnations of previous characters he had made, namely Vash and that other guy...
http://www.2xtreme.net/~gjenness/wallpaper/20040301a.jpg - for vash
http://www.2xtreme.net/~gjenness/wallpaper/20040302at.jpg - grave
http://www.2xtreme.net/~gjenness/wallpaper/20040303at.jpg - that other guy from trigun(with the cross) or maybe vash's brother actually was somewhat reincarnated into this character
oh yeah and also can't forget this one bad guy; in fact now that i think about the part where i had to beat him, im startin to think he might've been more like that dude with the cross...

It is of course on usenet: try http://www.binsearch.info and use up some of those 25 gigs I gave away if you're too cheap to see it on the big screen ;)
-
I'm cheap... :D

Just thought everyone would want to read this:
Voilà! In view, a humble vaudevillian veteran, cast vicariously as both victim and villain by the vicissitudes of Fate. This visage, no mere veneer of vanity, is it vestige of the vox populi, now vacant, vanished, as the once vital voice of the verisimilitude now venerates what they once vilified. However, this valorous visitation of a by-gone vexation, stands vivified, and has vowed to vanquish these venal and virulent vermin vanguarding vice and vouchsafing the violently vicious and voracious violation of volition. The only verdict is vengeance; a vendetta, held as a votive, not in vain, for the value and veracity of such shall one day vindicate the vigilant and the virtuous. Verily, this vichyssoise of verbiage veers most verbose vis-à-vis an introduction, and so it is my very good honor to meet you and you may call me V.
-
Don't tell me that you did that yourself.
-
I absolutely loved this movie. It was very good. :D Anyone who hasn't seen it yet is missing out, big time.
-
Just got back from seeing. Great freakin flick.

I finally got around to see it tonight, and immediately rushed home to my adoring computer for the one purpose of posting on this forum just to say:
God bless the Wachowski brothers.
-
Still doesnt get here.... x_x but theres always the internet....
-
Saw it last night. Loved the hell out of it. Plan on seeing it at least three more times. Will buy the dvd. The final scenes gave me goosebumps.
-
K, it's out in DVD so I got my copy imported and watched it again tonight. For some reason, better on the small (42") screen. Not sure why. Anyway, bit confused (spoilers):
* If he was blind (in her journal the doctor says he had no eyes but she was sure he was looking at her), why did he have paintings in the gallery, why did he tell Evey she looked good when she returned, and how the hell did he get around London? Touch smell and sound will only get you so far, especially if you don't know what time of day it is
* How did Dietrich manage to copy the things V did (cooking egg on toast, reciting conversations and even as far as repeating the attack on her parents)? Were they friends? Did they keep in communication? If they did, why didn't the Ear catch them at it?
* If "Water Coupons" rose in cost, what happened to electricity and gas prices? V has both plumbed in but presumably doesn't pay a bill - someone must be? Especially if he has enough electricity to run a tube line. I'm sure he doesn't have a meter
* How the hell did he lay a tube line himself anyway?
* How did he manage to get all those masks sent out without any alarms being raised? How did he choose who they were sent to?
-
When V first meets Evie and speaks in "V's" I was like wow, and I loved it sooooo much. Remember, remember the 6th of May t'is Subb's birthday that day! lol, erm.... that didn't go didn't it....
-
Answers to Destyn's Spoiler Questions:
:)
* "If he was blind...."
He wasn't blind. Remember that there was something in his immune system that procured the St. Mary's virus and it's cure... that means there was some little something in his blood stream that made him more resiliant. How else could he have escaped that fire at the labs and still lived? Perhaps his eyes were burnt out, but the optic nerve not severed. If he is as intelligent/special as he is, I'm sure that he found some way (or his body did) to maintain his eyesight
* "How did Dietrich.."
Dietrich was too well connected with V for something NOT to happen. They planned out the new script for the episode that got him arrested. Remember V saying "I thought they would arrest him, but I misjudged the chancellor's anger?" that means, IMO, that Dietrich (probably like many persons before him) was taken in by V for strategic means. V saw something in him, like he did in Evie that made him believe that this person could be used to fight with him against the government. Think... where was Evie going when she met V? To see Dietrich. It was obviously a set-up and not a chance meeting. Dietrich was taught by V very much in the same manor Evie was. And now Evie will teach the detective the same ideals. I'm sure V had been taking in pupils all along. He also said "Something unexpected happened, I fell in love with you Evie." Which means, that he was teaching her just like everyone else, until she became more important by being his love interest.
* If "Water Coupons..."
Water coupons was in context of the former United States. THEY were at war, remember? Not England. We can assume that the government regulated all of the utilities in England. As for how V could get away with his little hideout? He had connections inside the government, remember? He stole from secret vaults, knew the detention system very well, and also knew how to contact who he needed to. He assumed the fake name of Rookwood, who's to say he didn't hack/break his way into the government's files and computers to achieve the info he needed, and erase the info he needed erased (such as water/electricity usage of his home and the subway line)?
* "How the hell did he lay a tube line himself anyway?"
It did say it took him almost 10 years to rebuild parts of it and lay SOME of his own. Now if this guy is this intelligent and this dedicated it's not that far to believe he laid down some steel gurters.
* "All those masks..."
Again, he had connections inside the government mainframe (probably pupils of his like Dietrich and Evie). And he sent them out at random all across London.
Does that help? To sum up, V, while doing his side projects of planning, training, getting materials, and laying track, also took in a number of pupils in the same manner we saw Evie being taught. One of which we know for a fact was Deitrich. Others could have been security gaurds at government buildings, or common street people, or networking people, etc. Whoever would strategically play a part in his war, and appeared to have a spark of a rebellion in them. Remember how he needed someone from the network's pass to get to the Voice of London guy's shower? He couldn't use Deitrich's pass because he still needed Deitrich for propaganda, so he scouted out this girl who had a reason to hate the government (her parent's and brother's deaths).

Ahhh gotcha. Thanks Lits :)
-
I do what I can to impart my infinite wisdom :)
-
Yeah, the mask in that Best Buy Exclusive set is pretty crappy. So, unless you're getting it because you're a huge fan and want a nice collectible, it's absolutely worthless. I got one because I'm a consumer whore when it comes to anything movies :D
-
Yea now I cant run around wearing the mask. :(
-
Is it a plastic mask?
-
Scrub that, guessing it would be: http://www.dccomics.com/dcdirect/?dcd=4363
-
Yes, it's very small (can cover your nose, the top of your mouth and small parts of your eyes; that's about it) and it's plastic.
If you have the money, be my guest and buy the official one. It's much better and I'm sure that one actually fits your face.

Err thanks for giving me permission :p I think I'll pass anyhow
-
lol, yyyyyyyyyyyyeeeeeeaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh. 200 bucks for a mask is a lot of money I'd rather spend on something else :D
