Title: Website Bugs/Suggestions
Post by: Lithium on April 12, 2006, 12:13:10 am
As many of you know the website has been relocated to a private semi-dedicated server. For the last few months we have had very little work done on the site due to Likwidtek's and Ket's disappearence.

Now that we have more control over the website we can move forward and develop it into a powerhouse of information.

Several ideas have already been brought up to me and I am sure many more will arise.

The current Todo list is as follows:

And it is late and I am sure there is more to be fixed. So if you have suggestions or bug reports post them here and we will do what we can! Thanks.

Site looks nice. Some of my blocks are missing. The //broadcast and recently created //store. I'll keep searching around for other things...

Tbone those two blocks where lost due to the postnuke upgrade. They should be simple enough to remake.

Actually //broadcast was a pretty complex java code. Arg...

"Use Visual Mode" for the quickreply? WTF.

Ok in other news if that is the lastest release for PhpBB2 (Which known you it is.) there should be an option that removes the RE: re: Re: from the block. I know what it says doesn't sound like it would be that, but I remember that its the second or third checkbox on the module.

NoCry1 has lost his password. Something went wrong with his cookies and he is locked out of the FA site. Any help for him?

Visual mode is a postnuke thing. I think I want to disable it. Probably will once I figure out what controls it.

I did a thorough check. None of the options got rid of the "Re:". Are we out of date already?

So, RE:'s are left it we do quick reply, but not a normal reply?
Title: Re: Website Bugs/Suggestions

That is probably because it is hard coded into the reply box. There is actually a pnphpbb update that I still need to put on it. So maybe that will fix it. I will update the forums in a day or two late at night when nobody is around.

Visual Mode is tha suk!

Unless you have HTML turned on...

Visual mode converts everything (including carridge returns) to html code, which is disabled, therefore killing the formatting on a post.

Yeah eroz bothered me about the bullets too. I'll get them back I guess.

Yeah I have no idea where visual mode came from. It started appearing when I installed the new postnuke. I'll look into that tomorrow too.

Also "My Personal Home Page" feature (the one that adds a sub-menu on the left side where you can put URL's and if found under //residual self-image) no longer seems to work for me so you might want to look at that too.

Great job overall.

Notifications do not seem to be working. For instance, if I watch a topic or want to be notified of a reply, I do not get an email or a PM when someone replies. When someone requests to join a group that I am group moderator of, I do not receive a notification either. PMs still seem to be working though.

Yeah its on the Todo list. I think it may be hardcoded flash. It may need to be redone completely.

I spent an hour or so the other day looking for an alternative. I may have found one but I think my flash was screwed up at the time. Meh...

I've been asking for this for over a year now....

STEP 1: Sign out of this website.
STEP 2: Visit this link (http://followtheangel.org/modules.php?op=modload&name=coppermine&file=displayimage&album=lastalb&cat=&pos=0)
STEP 3: Get drunk

If I may make a suggestion for an option available to forum-goers, I would like to suggest that there be an option for "Jump to first new post" similar to how the MxO Boards has it. Makes it much easier for catching up on a post, rather than having to find where you last left off at.

That would be infinitely awesome :D

When you try to submit an event, it previews as "Thursday, August 20 1970" no matter what date you put for it.

Example here (http://followtheangel.org/index.php?module=PostCalendar&func=view&Date=20060701&tplview=&viewtype=details&eid=19&print=)

Ok, bug fixed. It was a known error with 4.02 but upgrading to 4.03 corrected it. Let me know if it gives you anymore problems.

Suggestion that the //crew_roster block on the left, have the links changed from http://followtheangel.org... to http://www.followtheangel.org... I guess this could just be a personal issue, however everything else on my instance of the site links to www.followtheangel.org

On the crew_roster block would it be possible to include a link that go directly to our ships forum?
