If you haven't already read the new looking through the looking galss (or what ever it's called) then check this out.
"White Hallways
No, not white rooms—white hallways. You know, the hallways that lead to backdoors in the system. Yes, they exist in The Matrix Online. And, after some time and testing, we plan on bringing them to you.
The plan is to make white hallways accessible by taking special missions. There will be three possible “backdoors”—one for each Organization. These doors will lead to special Org-only areas where Crews and Factions can meet in private.
The team’s been doing a lot of work on them over the past few months and we’ll begin testing soon."
I'm so, so excited ^_^

SWEET>>> FINALLY
-
Wicked... how soon is sooon?
-
Date is unconfirmed yet I'm afraid =/
-
Awesome!
I have known that they have been in the game for some time now but the fact that you can use them now without exploiting and to get to special crew/faction only zones is great news.

/dance1
-
/dance3 is better XD
-
I jumped for joy, literally, as I read this.
-
I'm topless as we speak ^_^
-
I'm mostly naked now, as I type this, with motor oil smeared all over my body and am surrounded by many a ravenous raccon rampaging through my room XD

After hearing the good news about the hallways, someone had to check them out to see if any had been revamped at all...Enjoy.

OMG How do you get in there? I thought they fixed it!
-
I miss that screensaver.... I used to watch it for hours
-
That aint no screensaver.
-
We're going to need a bigger boat....
-
hmm i never went to those hallways. either those are different ones which i think they are, or they are revamped.
-
White hallways, equals a BUNCH of info!
They are accessed through the mission system, and the mission system knows only orgs and mission teams, not factions or crews, so no, they don't really have anything to do with factions or crews directly.
The way it is designed to work currently is that you can buy a certain very special key from an archivist. The key leads to that archivist's org area, through the white hallways. The key costs 100,000,000 $info, requires at least 100 rep in the org for use, and can be used an indefinite number of times. It can also be traded or sold.
EDIT: And just to be clear, the areas you go to are mission areas, with all the normal restrictions (six people to a team, ~30 minute time limit, etc).
-
100,000,000?????!!!!! WTFHAX!
-
I figure that they will use instances to create "private rooms".
Hmmm, I always thought the hallways should all be staright. A door could lead to another straigh hallway.
Considering they say a hallway for each organisation, it seems that cross-org chats seem impossible, which I like. Technically, the chat's we would have in these instances would more be "on the hovercraft".... and that is the equivalent to being here, if related to FA only, but it provides private space for inter-faction chat, in a safe area.
However, I feel this will increase the amount of spys in a faction, in an attempt to get info from these rooms; unless the keys can be sold, as it says, but to other oganizations...
If instances are limited to 6 people in a team, how will this benefit safe communications? No point in private instances for only 6 people, really.
As for the special missions, that would help a little and add a little extra content from time to time.
-
I repeat: We're going to need a bigger hovercraft.
This all sounds very exciting... I've never been (obviously)
-
I love the hallway screen saver (it's my current screensaver at the mo.).
-
Don't yall think that's a lot of info to pay for the possibility of a few new missions and a six-man-30-minute run at a time though....?!
-
That is a friggin' joke!!! It's gotta be!!! PLEASE CAN IT BE A JOKE
*Kicks down Walrus' door and pumps shotgun*
-
I'd be willing to pay 100 mil for a key if we could have as many people as we want in there, with no time limit. But this is bullshit. I guess we could do the Club Hel trick where you kick someone from a team and recall someone else in, but it would be really nice if we didn't have to resort to such a tedious tactic to bring more people in.
-
^_^ I agree.
-
Yes, 100 mil for unlimited use. 100 mil for seriously restricted use, no. What next, 1 mil mil for org-only abilities?
-
No Destyn it's one bil mil tril ^_^
-
You guys do understand that you pay 100 million $info for the key, and that they key can be used infinitely, right?
The key doesn't have a set number of uses, so when time runs out you can simple run out and run back in.
Rec'nize.
-
yeah you can use the keys infinite amount of times, and it is tradeable and sellable.
also they are not instanced due to the game not supporting instances, it is simply a mission area. which the area already exsists in game. and Zion doorways are in richland/westview. and i dont know where the mech and mervs are.
and org abilites are given out during your org intro missions which are being re-done so we have to do them over again but we will also get the abilites from them.
just keeping you guys up to date, I know everything....I am a spy within SOE!
or just read the ask the devs thread...
-
Yeah I appreciate the re-use angle, but it's not like this is an area we can go to and chill out in en masse. It's paying a heck of a lot of info for a mission area. It still seems wrong to me.
-
I think they should actually add a mission in the white hallways, or even separate some hallways for meetings and some hallways for missions. The missions could be something almost impossible (except for FA ;)) like 100 agents coming out of the doors. That's a way to get the info back.
I CCR'ed this almost a year ago, asking them to bring the white hallways in as missions. :p w00t can't wait.
-
Well rarebit said that the white hallways, remember there is multiple hallways, were supposed to be used for misssions but how you got them were tottaly random and very very rare. So you would be running a mission and then you would walk in the door and then boom in the white hallways. and these were on standard missions, but since they got broke, somethign about world designers being stupid blaming it on enginering and vice versa they just stopped working on it since they couldnt fix it, but rarebit said he looked at it again, it is in theory fixed again but it is going through QA now.

O.o
