I know most of you who are actually active at the moment are playing AAO, but it didn't work when I downloaded it so I have found an alternative, which is Joint Ops. It is kinda like a mix between VC and the Battlefield but with better multiplayer than both. Apart from that I have been playing it pretty much solidly on the one map for about two weeks now, so it can't be all bad. I haven't found the website to download it from but will get back to you as soon as I do.

Is it planetside MMOG style, or like battlefield?

I have been thinking about buying Söldner.
Looks really cool, and I love the idea of destructionable terrain :).
-
Soldner is a very good game and it is really fun, especially the destrutable terrain. I think it would run better than it did on mine with higher specs but then everything does these days. The only problem is that the controls are rather strange and it takes a little while to get used to the interface. Other than that it is a great game. I suggest trying the demo first though, just to see if you like it or not.

Ya, AAO works terribly on my comp. It gets all glitchy at the slightest move of the mouse and i wasnt quite in the knowhow of formations and what not so i just gave up. i think i'll just wait for MxO, and play CoD until then.
-
Also, Oronos do you realize that your sig involves conflict in verb tenses?
-
AAO is a little glitchy right at the very beginning of the mission, but other than that it runs pretty good, but those ppl are really really good i die alot

I actually tried the Söldner demo. Or at least I tried to try. It wouldn't let me play, saying the servers ran a newer version. And then I patched the demo, and now it wouldn't even start up, but crash halfway through the loading screen.. :(
-
I got the soldner demo of my new PC gamer, and after patching it works great. Its really fun, out of what ive been able to play. I still say we all get a really low specs, cheap game(Delta Force is a shining example) that is actually fun to play and not glitchy. And it would also allow us 56kr's to play as well. 600 MB makes my dial up run in fear.

Ywah.....but i'm d/l one piece at a time......I'll be getting a job next week hopefully, soafter I get situated I can save up for a nice cable or dsl connection.
-
My processor doesn't really meet the minimum specs :).
-
I really hate the way that some threads deviate. I mean, this started about the open beta for JO and now they are talking about specs. Oh well, better get back to my box.
-
Well, when I was fighting against it, I was missing one crucial detail about these threads. Theyre in the Off Topic[/b]forums. Then I stopped.
-
I was just thinking, maybe Wolfenstein:Enemy Territory would be good for teamplay? It is free and good..
-
It's somewhat enjoyable.
So I'm with you :). Though I have to redownload it.
-
Ok, you can now download a demo of JO for free at www.novalogic.com it is 250mg, and it is only online. I play on the uk island hopper servers as Faust. Hopefully more than Oronos will play.
-
How is the second demo? Haven't tried it yet.
-
it is pretty damn good, again it has one level, a dormant volcano, but it is much more hectic than the last as it is on one island.
