Title: It's my turn to update now.
Post by: Pirus on August 10, 2006, 11:52:16 am: well I see everyone upgrading their computers and I cant help myself I'm doing it to. It looks like im geting a fx-57 chip that I will overlock to above a fx-60 for those of you who dont know the fx-60 is about the best gaming processor out there. The fx's aren't dual core but then again the dual core's are mainly for multi tasking not for gaming. In reality the fx will smoke the amd dual core x2's in games. I also ordered 2gb of ocz heat spreader memory. The video card wil be next on the list but that will be a couple of weeks. I may go ahead and get the 7950 big boy but we'll have to wait and see.

Post by: Pirus on August 11, 2006, 12:10:48 pm: im gonna use the stock fan and heatsink that comes with it... it will cool it sufficiently enough to get me up to 3 ghz instead of the stock 2.8. and yeah artic silver unless there is a compound already stuck on the heatsink but the go is ready immediately after you stick it on.

Post by: Anonymous on August 11, 2006, 11:17:54 pm: Well since my upgrade is doing so well my wife wants a new pc now. So, I'll be building a new pc in Jan/Feb. I'm gonna try to stay under $1500 but that may be hard to do cause I want to put a Conroe in it. No more than $2500 though.

Post by: Anonymous on August 13, 2006, 01:35:38 pm: Well i finally have a gig of Ram memory and i'm still waiting for my BFG nvidia gforce oc 6200 pci graphics card with 256mb. Right now i have a Ati Radeon Xtasy 9250 128mb, it blows. Better than what i had which was nothing, lol. I'm hoping to build a new comp around the same time as when Saffy does, income tax time you know.
