first i cant connect to the internet now im getting a blue screen let me know if any of you can make heads or tails of this

unmountable boot volume eek well typically that means your file system is damaged and requires you to repair the windows installation via the windows xp disk. Personally I would format and start the whole installation over with a major problem like that but thats just me. You could also get that error if you fooled with your bios if you tried to aquire faster udma modes (essentially faster hard drive modes) which I seriously doubt you did. So, if you have a windows disk make sure your cdrom/dvdrom is the first boot device (use bios boot to change this) and run the setup and hit R for recovery/repair and it should fix the problem. If you have no important info to lose do the format and start over from scratch.

ok so i tried what pirus said i ran the restore disk it froze while doing this then i tried to recover my stuff using norton ghost (froze when tried) so i phoned up dell wasted 45mins on a £1 a min phone call (rip off) for them to tell me its dead they said my hardrive is damaged so they kindly said they will send out a new hd it shall be here tommorrow midday so hopefully fingers crossed i'll be back tommorow night :)

sweet glad you got a new hd it was either the file system being damaged or corrupt... or the hard drive itself being bad either way this should fix the problem... unless they send you a bad hard drive lol lets hope thats not the case.

sweet im back and patching mxo as we speak they sent a bigger hd aswell :D but now my pc isnt detecting my gfx or sound card so no sound for me the now but at least mxo is back!

well yeah you have to install the drivers for both if its a dell computer you can go to dell.com and find them
