Title: Headset
Post by: Eroz on March 31, 2007, 01:18:35 am
So my headset died again, I think that is set number 3 for me. And I'm looking for another one, but I would really like a wireless, USB, one ear one headset. Anyone know of one, or have one?

I think bluetooth will work, but I really want the mic close to my mouth, and can't seem to find any that have that.

I have a Plantronics wired headset, and it has the extendable mic that reaches my mouth. Might want to look into one of their mics.

I know this is an expensive setup, but this is what I use, and I highly recommend it; very comfortable, and good pickup.

Xbox 360 Wireless Headset, $59.99

Xbox 360 Wireless Gaming Reciever, $19.99 (USB receiver that lets you use the 360 headset, controller, and steering wheel on your PC)

What did you previously use, the Logitech PS2 USB headset?  They're nice and comfy, but I've had two die on me so far.

Lols I was going to post the same thing, but figured he wouldn't want to bother paying $20 for the receiver and then getting the headset for $60.. But hey if you own a 360, I'd say it's worth it since you can use it with both.

Off-topic, but 360 related, I suggest getting a Westinghouse LVM-37w1(awesome and cheaply priced 1080p lcd), and the 360 HD-DVD add-on to anyone who hasn't got one already. Heck you could just go out and buy the HD-DVD add-on to use with your PC, as long as you got the correct decoders installed. I think the latest PowerDVD Ultra works fine.

I've had both the PS2 and the same thing but non-PS2 verison. I was thinking the 360 headset might work well, and was wondering how to connect it to my PC, looks like you already found it for me. Now it might be time to buy that 360.

Might be a little big for some folks' tastes, but I love the hell out of mine.  Sound quality is great, and the "around the ear" design makes them comfortable enough to wear for hours on end.
