Alright folks it's that time Broin is hitting the road for a week and will be AFK for an extended period. Yes I'm heading to Disney as discussed in a previous thread, and yes before anyone asks the offer still stands that if you actually find me in the parks then you get your picture taken with Broin.
I will be wearing the FA hat, Tshirt, or Medallion (coin turned into a necklace), or other FA attire all the time.
Now onto important stuff.
When I return we will be starting the process of working out the next movie. (Pirus you done with that damn video card yet?) :D
Whether he is or not I will be upgrading when I return and will be working on the next movie project. No this does not mean that as soon as I show up we will start filming. What does it mean? It means we are starting the next process.... :p
Tbone and myself have discussed some ideas, and Adad has actually provided a primer for us to go on. I like the idea of FA operative back stories and somehow using them to continue the FA storyline... So if you have a story, backstory, or an idea that you think is good work it up. NO, this does not mean that if you work something up it WILL get made into a film. It means I'm going to take a look at them and use the ones that I think can most easily be woven together into a continous storyline or that can be used best to protray the lives of FA in MXO. (DISCUSS AMONGST YOURSELVES WHAT YOU ALL THINK ABOUT IDEAS FOR FILMING AND SUCH)
The other idea that I have been kicking around since the end of the last video was a full length, or as close to full length movie. The general concept is that the truce is failing, or has failed and that the machines (Agents) have started cracking down on Zion operatives within the simulation. Kind of an old school 1st Movie feel. (FEEL FREE TO CHIME IN ANY IDEAS FOR THAT AS WELL)
Either way both of these projects will/would be extensive and time consuming. You must understand that for every 30-60 seconds of movie that is done it takes about 1-2 hours of filming inside the game and about 1-2 hours of editing and work outside of game.
Anyone with the skills to work on graphics, animation, sound, etc., feel free to chime in and offer your services.
Well that's about all for now.... I'll see you all in a little over a week....
/dap to all
and of course.... Hugs and Kisses to Lits and all the other female RSI's (that are actually female, sorry Ana)
Rock on folks :D

Need soundwork? Need software? Need web/FTP space? I'm your man.
-
I can edit sound as well as edit for sure, I have a very powerful computer and editing software, Final Cut Pro Studio HD, if you can get me the footage.
Otherwise, I want to get going back on mine this week. I need TBone, and someone to stand in as Thomas Anderson, as well as voice work for him, though I asked Jeyk to give it a shot, anyone is wlcome to do your best keanu impressions... I will also need ideas/scripts (Ven, T, Phienyx, etc) for Act 2 and 3 of it, hopefully getting more angels involved, but we can pick that conversatiion about the details up on my old thread about it.
Have a good week or so off Broin

It would be cool if the people who get their stories made use their Turret artwork for personal posters (Sin City/300 style)
-
Exams are over so I can start helping with things if anyone needs help, I'll be back in action summer time.

and of course.... Hugs and Kisses to Lits and all the other female RSI's (that are actually female, sorry Ana)
Rock on folks :D
You know that you're loved when Broin mentions you in his post, albeit one where he was clarifying that I was not a part of his hugs and kisses... wait a minute!
Have fun in Disney! We will surely miss you in-game. I'll do my best to thing of scripts while I'm in-game. I know for a fact that we need a chase scene, ala the trailer scene of Trinity on the rooftop in the first film. I'll be in-game scoping out fun places. I'm also going to re-watch the Trailers to get some good ideas. And then I'll re-watch all of our FA movies.

Have fun Broin! Hugs and kisses to you, too :).
I've done a fair amount of voice over work if you need and I can supply stand in RSI's, plus myself.

I've been working on my Background for sometime now, as it is no longer posted due to rewrites and tweaks. I may be able to fnish something abd out it up. Maybe Voice Work and anything you think I could contribute too.
Here to help :)

Alright. I've got a question simply to stimulate our minds.
What would be the catalyst for the Truce failing?
-Possible hacking into a Machine Mainframe that exposes weaknesses of the Machines?
-Too many have been awakened?
-Possible audio feed found detailing what's being done to Neo's remains?
-Machines need to reset the Matrix because of all of the corruption?
If we can't think of anything straight away, let's start asking each other questions so we can get our creative juices going.
Personally, I think we should do a general story rather than a story revolving around certain people with a back-story. It appeals to a broader audience. However, we have great material in back-stories that could easily be used for source material. I just don't think that we should focus on any one person (other than Tbone) simply because it would take away from the story that we're trying to tell because it wouldn't appeal to as many people if we focused on two people because it would alienate those who do not know the person. The FA videos are left quasi-ambiguous because we're showcasing the entire FA, not just one person. Some random person watching the FA movies could envision themselves as one of those characters that they see. You can't do that as well if everyone is named and a storyline is being developed showcasing a certain person in the faction. Again, that's just my opinion, though. I don't care either way, just as long as the movie has a good storyline and is quality work.
I'll try running through old critical missions this coming week to get some more Matrix-feeling source material to work from. Let's brainstorm, people.
Agents. Fear. Bullet time. Deja Vu. Love. Confusion. Alice in Wonderland. Hackers. Computers. Those are just a few of the things that made the Matrix great.

I agree with you Ana - FA gets too much attention for a handful of high profile PVPers, the focus should be on FA as a whole unit rather than a few
-
What would be cool if all the FA members did a voice clip of them starting to tell what happened when they were awakened and it was all mixed together so for three seconds Dmax could be starting his, then Lits could cut him off and start talking about hers while there's a intro (like AOV - scenery) and they'll all kind of overlap. I dunno, just brainstorming :D
I agree with Ana.

I agree it should contain FA as a whole, but what I feel is lacking in all MxO movies, not as much our own but still not there, is a total story, with characters, action, actual good dialogue, etc. That's what gets me excited about the idea of a feature. I was thinking of that myself, but my video card isn't the best, so the game doesn't look as good as it should for that kind of production. I feel we should tell the FA story. Beginning with TBone, moving to awakening early members, to deceit, betrayal, storyline of the matrix mixed in, large full faction attacks, the possibilities are endless and any good writer can tell so much about so many characters in an extremely short period of time.
I don't think ambiguity is the way to get viewers to relate to the characters and put themselves in a story, it is to build characters that they can relate to, similar interests, similar features and emotions, that''s why team type situation like FA are great for that. We are all so different and people can relate to one of us if they get to know us through a movie like this...

I can help out with webspace... I just got my monthly transfer boosted to 3000 GB!

I know I have basically said this before, but I was just looking at Turret's art, specifically his movie poster for Broin, and I thought, why don't we do just that? Make a movie, perhaps feature length, about FA. It's that simple. How we began, various members becoming angels all the while dealing with the problems in the matrix, ie morpheus' death and the truce. There can be turmoil between members and those who have been kicked out, sad moments of those hanging up their wings. We have been through everything that makes up a great movie, we just need a writer to capture it all... that's what I think would be the best idea. The story of the Furious Angels. Tbone on.

Audience members identify MORE with a detailed character... in script writing one or more characters should appeal to just about anyone in the target audience, so the they can place themselves in that position. Personally, I like Subb's idea of the overlapping voice intro of the backstories... the same kind of unit was employed in the intro to all three Xmen movies and was well recieved, a kind of vocal montage to set the mood right off the bat. You want to set the world of the movie at first sight to grab the audience and capture the world as much as possible.
I'm thinking we SHOULD focus on at least some of the emotional sides of being an operative in FA through a handful of central characters supported by the rest of the faction. These are called "static" and "dynamic." The small handful that are dynamic characters have an emotional journey that the audience can follow and relate to while the static characters provide a base for it. I think we should focus on the hardships of being us working within in the Matrix: dealing with the stress of a cold war, mounting tensions among us resolving into stronger bonds, and undying loyalty to the cause no matter the personal, emotional, psychological, and physical sacrifices. I think THAT would be a great point to the movie. "We've been through Hell, and we'd do it again, because that's how strong we are as a unit."
Just my opinion.
