With the break of the truce and the beginning of a new era, all of the LEs have changed uniforms. In keeping up with the new times and to better reflect the feel of New Zion, I thought it would be cool for us to come up wiith an alternative uniform ourselves. This isn't doing away with the classy, classical. Just having something for a different feel or on certain occassions.
I want this uniform to reflect what you think New Zion is. I think of newer, cleaner, shinier, maybe even whiter. I also think of a Zion ready for war, battle-ready, bad-ass. So that's what we're looking for. Kind of this clean, bad-ass look reminiscent of the familiar FA but with a certain twist. Here are some options we've formulated so far. They are by no means complete and we're still debating pretty hardcore, but here's what we've come up with as of yet:

We haven't found any coats that capture our feel without taking away the unique style (in other words the coat covers other clothing). The pants are a pain too, because besides our white slacks, those hops with a bit of white is the only thing that keeps white as a theme. There is no white vest. The hat is something that can be changed, whether just the hat or just the bandana or maybe nothing at all...that can be looked at once we figure out the rest of it.
-
We're also looking at matching female uniforms and how they look together:

i like underarmour; as to the vests/ singlets, remind me of borat frankly.
-
I'm starting to grow on the Underarmour. It looked a little ridiculous to me, at first, but it's grown on me. It probably also helps that we have some decent pants now.
-
I like it.
-
I like the way the female uni looks with the male uni, in the second post. I...don't really know if my vote counts though :S but I hope it does!!
-
I really like the black pants, the extra white on them reminds me of wings.
-
I like the Under Armour, and I can get used to the hosh chaps (am I the only one who thinks the white on them draws too much attention to the crotch?).
I still think we should use the Skaver boots for the male version. The white sneakers look like hospital booties.
Since the original FA uniform is more of a "formal" look, which is mostly white with a little black, I think our "New Zion/battle ready" uniform should be the opposite.
-
I agree with manic I had a black uniform with a little white all picked out if anyone would like to see it.... the onlything I dont have is the white gloves
-
well I figured I would post something that was close to the opposite of what we have now. I have white glasses on btw.
I wish I had a pair of formal white gloves but these that I have on will have to do. I have also found other vest/pants combo's.
We can always change it up.

I kind of added the close up just cuz I liked the way the light reflected off my glasses.

More to come.

I just dont like flipping colors, it seems to simple. A new look just says so much more.
-
Im iffy on the whole thing honestly.
But Im just contributing to the ideas.
-
I really like this one...

We did try the Skavers but they go over the pants and make it look a bit silly. I personally like the silver stripe Dada shoes. And what's wrong with bringing attention to the crotch? ;)
I think coats and shirts are still a bad idea, even using the white pants again in the new uniform. It's too formal. This is supposed to be a battle-ready outfit, you wouldn't put a tie on to go to war.
-
I really like the look of Sorrows' white vest/tie combo with black uni and white gloves a lot, but I agree, it's too simple of a change. I also agree with manic that boots or something would be a lot better than white shoes for the underarmour look, but I kept trying them on and people weren't having it.

The thing is, with a majority of those boots, the pants tuck into the boots and it looks ridiculous. If you can find a pair of boots that let the pants cover the majority of the boots, then hell yes, I want boots. The main reason we've leaned towards the sneakers, thus far, is because the boots don't look right.
-
I'd even prefer like the black Swoosh sneakers or lucien dress shoes just for the dark look with dark pants.
-
We still need to stay mostly white, and it needs to be a different style. Changing the color of the pants and coat really doesn't signify switching to a more war-like mode in my opinion.
-
I do have all the underarmor at lvl 50 shielded and armored as well as the lvl 50 shielded and armored all white sneakers.
I've been working on the house today and will proabably not be in game until later tonight but definatley want to try a few ideas.
-
aye, no tie but no singlet! please! underarmour for the win! as to sorrows "number 2" photo, what about that with underarmour?
-
Just to clarify (apparently there has been a lot of confusion), this is not replacing our formal FA whites. Think of it like the military. You have your dress fatigues and your combat fatigues (or something like that). We basically have three different types of events.
1. Formal meeting - FA dress whites - discuss events, give out awards, meet with someone, look important and stand still
2. Mission briefings/execution - FA New Zion battle clothes - plan an attack, scope out a location, investigate an area, rally for a fight
3. Functional fights - your personal battle gear - fighting NPCs or players that require your usual buffs from your pvp gear..your street clothes in the hostile world
There is a thin line between a formal meeting and a "New Zion" war gathering. We'll just have to play that one by ear. In my mind this works and will help add to the atmosphere of a more liberal, war-like Zion. It may flop and people we'll just think we're screwing up FA and copying LE chars. We'll probably get a little of both. Either way, it's something to do and possibly keep things fresh.

I really like this one...
And I really like the underarmour uni.. I remember when it first came out I came up with a red and then a purple uni to match the underarmour theme.. I Think the white theme will go well.. we can also add the black jacket for formality..
-
Yeah, I like the White underarmour and black/white pants one too. As Eroz said, the white on the pants reminds me of wings.
-
Only problem with jackets is that it either covers up the under armour or makes us a majority of a different color (i.e. black).
-
I like the UnderArmour/Hosh combo.
-
I personally like the white under armor top, but the white shoes gotta go. lol
The fedora doesn't quite go either, especially with the vest. It looks like an outfit for some 80s punk rock band.
I think for the purpose of war, the under armor shirt, black pants is good along with the bandana (perhaps allow balck or white). Isn't there an all white short leather jacket also? The Hosh jacket or something like that? I think we should lose the hat or use a different style hat, black shoes or boots and black gloves if we use gloves at all. the whole black with the white gloves look seems as if we should be serving drinks to a rich family and polishing their silver.
-
The only problem with the Hosh jacket is that it completely covers up the under armour. I really like the look of it, though. There is of course the white suit coat, but that might be too "soft" for a combat outfit.
I vote against hats and bandanas for this uniform.
As for shoes, I know the problem with most boots is that the legs of the pants get "tucked in". But do the Skaver Short Boots produce the same effect? The short boots only go up to the ankle, rather than up the calve.
-
What if we used a white baseball cap? Like Adad's real hat? :) Baseball caps are definitely more sporty, new, and "combat"-worthy than the fedoras.
And remember people, this uniform is not a replacement for our FA whites. We will still wear the trademark FA fedoras for formal occassions, so why not mix it up with a different hat for the New Zion meetings? :D
** This is where everyone says "Wow Tecknik! What a great idea!" :D **
-
Wow Phienyx, what a great idea!
-
The baseball cap is too white, it doesn't blend well. Also, it's the same hat the Machine enforcers wear during missions...
-
mmm underarmour
-

Well nuts to that! :p
-
So far it looks like...
No hat
White shades
White under armour
No coat
Hosh pants
Black shoe/boot
Is this what everyone seems to be agreeing on?
-
And the gloves?
-
Agree
And the fingerless gloves? Can't remember if you decided on them
-
yah boss man, although coat would still be grand, at the very least if having selected a faction coat one could find an armoured/ enhanced one that would be grand.
-
Yeah, probably either fingerless or none.
-
I know I've been absent as of late *apologizes* but am I missing something?

Get up-to-date on the cinematics and criticals. ;)
-
Alright
-
I like T's 2nd one!
-
underarmor is sechsay
although the white gloves are hawt too.
-
Nooooo, not the white gloves.
-
I think we're getting close...
-
Prefer the white shoes (are they the Dada shoes?), like a beanie too. Fingerless gloves look good. Are we aiming to get any buffs in this so that we can spread out our abilities?
-
You prefer the white shoes to the boots? Oh, and I'm trying to get the pic working...my internet connection is having upload problems..
No, these clothes won't be too functional in combat. We are trying to get as high level clothing as we can, though, to provide protection.
-
Yes, the white shoes look better than the boots on reflection. I have those pants in enhanced, can't remember the buffs, but I'm pretty sure they're level 50. Also have lv 50 enh white glasses, and I think my shoes are enh 46. Only thing I don't have is enh underarmor but it's not that bad all in all.
-
I'm loving the White underarmour, Hosh pants, fingerless gloves, white trainers and headgear! <3
Also, I need to get a headgear....
-
Also, I need to get a headgear....
Maybe we can persuade Broin to farm with us. :D
-
:D I killed 3, then fuckface North came along....
-
I think the beanie actually works quite nicely.
-
I like that look...especially the watch cap.
I thnk something else white will tip the color balance a bit back to white and give it back that "FA" edge.
-
I have the black boots both at lvl 50 shielded and armored as well as the shirt at lvl 50 shielded and armored... I think the glasses as well. So with the outfit Tbone has there we are pretty set on resistances. I do not have a high level beanie hat though.
-
Im wearing a little bit different items just because I was getting a genera look in combat. IMO, this new outfit rocks.
