I know a lot of you watch Lost, so let the speculation be posted.

At first, I thought it was going to be another american Godzilla, but then I heard that the Japanese creator was so upset with our Godzilla that he banned us from ever making another Godzilla movie.  I actually saw a clip of one of their Godzilla movies where the original Godzilla takes out the American Godzilla in like less than 10 seconds. ROFL.

But anyways, from what I've read, the crew refers to the monster as the "parasite", i believe it was.  And everyone, including the studio is being very hush-hush.  Saw the trailer when I went to see Transformers.

EDIT: I also find it interesting that someone yells "They saw it! It's a lion! It's huge!"  Or does it say, "They saw it! It's alive! It's huge!"? Definitely sounds more like lion, than alive.  And they keep saying "What kind of animal sounds like that?".  A friend speculated that it was a trailer for the new Voltron movie at first, based on the "lion" part.  Definitely not Voltron, though.

Nice puzzle... I got hung up on the 4th one and had to cheat a bit, but the others are doable.

Also this weird website here... use to be only two pictures... they keep adding more.

If you watch the move very slowly

Abrahms has said that Ethan Haas has nothing to do with his movie. I believe it was discovered that it's actually connected with a new video game in development.

The game they think it's associated with is called "Alpha Omega"

I finished the ethan haas puzzles last night, and it definitely is not some piece-meal fan site.

View the source of the ethan haas site, it has an interesting little quip.

Whether this is for cloverfield or for the game, who's to say but my money is on the game.

Yeah I kinda wish the ethan haas sites were connected though, also the part about abrams denying the sites, he also denied the whole LOST ARG thing too. Also I was reading up on it yesterday and some people had this big thing about the table top RPG thing actually just being part of the game and not a real company. The reason why I personally think Ethan Haas is part of 11808 is because everytime someone put one of the Van vids on youtube Paramount pictures took them down for copyright reasons.

A new picture has been added to the mix on the 1-18-08 website.  Plus I found something with the pictures just now.  you can click on the pictures and drag them around the screen, but now if you move back and forth real fast while having clicked on the picture you can get it to flip over.  There's a message on the new photo.

Good find. Messages seem to be pointless at the moment.

In the Trailer there's apparently a guy with a "slusho" softdrink logo on his t-shirt.

Here is the website for that company:   http://www.slusho.jp/

Read the history of the company, should be a bit thought provoking to say the least.

Good catch on the Company History there. The store seems legit though.

It's a fictional drink that was originated on Abrahms' show Alias.

Am I missing something in the History? I don't get it.

EDIT: Everyone has seen the Wiki, right?

For the film, Abrams conceived of a new monster after he and his son visited a toy store in Japan that had Godzilla toys.

Plot speculation

Before details of the film were released, the media reported numerous possibilities about what the film would be about. USA Today reported the possibilities of the film being based on the works of H.P. Lovecraft, a live-action adaptation of Voltron, a new film about Godzilla, or a spin-off of the TV show Lost.[6] The Star Ledger also reported the possibility of the film being based on Lovecraft lore or Godzilla.[7] The Guardian also reported the possibility of a Lost spin-off,[8] while Time Out reported that the film was about an alien called The Parasite.[9] IGN also backed the possibility of the same premise, with the film titled The Parasite.[10] However, Entertainment Weekly reported that the film would not be about a parasite or a colossal Asian robot such as Voltron.[2] One report asserts that the film will not be "a sequel or a remake" of any previous motion picture.[11]

Viral websites

Puzzle websites containing Lovecraftian elements, such as one based on Ethan Haas Was Right, were originally reported to be connected to the film.[6][8] However, on July 9, 2007, producer J. J. Abrams stated that, while a number of websites were being developed to market the film, the only official site that had been found was 1-18-08.com.[12] Kirk Montgomery of Colorado's 9NEWS reported an inside source's claim that the website Slusho.jp "has lots of clues", though this has not been officially confirmed as a marketing campaign website.[11] The Washington Post also reported, "Records showed that the Slusho Web site was registered before the trailer aired, indicating that the site almost had to be official."[13]

I've been told that if you leave the website loaded, with your speakers on, after a while there is a secret message.  Apparently it scared the shit out of a friend who left the window open and forgot about it.

Not confirmed, since it's 3:30AM and everyone in my house is asleep.

EDIT: Okay... Confirmed.  Holy shit.  Scared the hell out of me. LOL. Left the window open.  Caught me off guard, even though I knew it was coming.  One of those "What the fuck was that!?" moments.

lol I'll just tell you it.  After exactly 6 minutes you hear a Roar.. yep thats it.  Its a nice quality long roar though.  The roar in the trailer is distored with the yelling and explosions but the one from the site is very clear.

Yeah, forgot to add that it wasn't a message like I was told.  My bad. :x

UPDATE:

http://www.01-18-08.com has a new photo, check the back and then check the spoiler

Spoiler:

Everybody, thank you for viewing! I'll introduce this week's delicious recipe. Please make sure to keep this one cold!

*Skinless chicken breast - 2, cut in halves
*Soumen (a kind of japanese noodle) - 10 oz.
*Watercress - 1/2 cup cut into small strips
*Turnip - 1/2 cup, thinly sliced
*Shiitake (japanese mushrooms) - 1/2 cup
*Chicken stock - 1/3 cup
*Sake (japanese rice wine) - 2 tbsp.
*Sugar - 1/2 tsp.
*Deep-Sea crab - one

In a small saucepan, stir together 1/3 cup water, chicken stock, sake, and sugar. Chill it until it becomes cold. Grill the chicken breast on both sides for about 8 minutes, and then chill. Boil the noodles for about 3 minutes, and then run under cold water until chilled. Mix the watercress, turnips, and mushrooms into the soumen. Slice the chicken thinly and arrange on top of the soumen mix. Just before you serve, put the crab in the sauce and pour over the noodles generously.

Go go Oishii ("delicious") Chef!

So... the movie was fucking awesome. :D

Me and three friends had a whole theater to ourselves, thanks to one of the friend's friend who is a manager at the theater.

The theater wasn't even having showings tonight.  They were just pre-running the film for later today.

It was so awesome. :D

Damn, none of the theaters around me held midnight screenings (Orlando and Tampa were running midnight shows, however).

I'll be seeing it at noon tomorrow.  I hope it's good.

Saw it today - pretty exciting.

The only downside?  You have to listen to fucking retards say "Dude, like, dude, totally dude" every fucking line.

The screenplay writer should be crucified.

Apparently I left to early, but there is a message after the credits.  I know what it is now, because I google'd it.  I won't spoil it for anyone though. :D

That and the idiots in the theater were morons.. I had the displeasure of going on a Friday night. I liked the movie but these two factors made it go from great to good... imo...

And you can write down what we missed... just put it in SPOILER tags.

I personally loved the movie, I don't know if it is because I am a little biased due to me trying to keep up with the ARG since the first trailer was released or if i would have loved it anyway.
