I have been playing Thief: deadly shadows for a while now and I have just reached the Cradle. Now, I am not going to explain why I am in a derelict Insane asylum, because that would ruin the story, but has anyone else who has got there thought that it is a little much for a 12+. I mean, no lights, blood everywhere and talking shadows all make up for a pretty whacked experience.

Fatal Frame 1&2 are the scariest games ever made. Or maybe Clocktower for PS1. I like that better than the SNES version.

I've always found the Silent Hill series quite disturbing.

I played all the silent hill games, and I found them disturbing, yes, but not really scary. The thing with Thief is that you really were not expecting it, and also if you are seen you are dead. And when you have lunatic zombies with cages over their heads and hands and are prone to wierd spasms from the shock treatment, it get kind of scary when you can't go anywhere near them unless you have some holy water or a hell of alot of fire arrows.

Resident evil 1 remake on the gamecube was quite scary, as in there is a constant opressive feeling of suspense, then aliens versus predator 2 was quite, but that just made you jump really. I'm playing Farcry now and that gets a bit scary in places.
