Title: Cheap CQ Farming in Datamine?
Post by: Tbone on March 05, 2008, 06:18:22 pm
So I got bored of data tapping in Datamine and decided to kill some reds for a while. I noticed there were about four Dark Evos in the area, so I hunted them down to the huge pit. I watched them for a while, noticing they were fighting each other over and over again until death. I jumped down and interfered, killing them during their fight, but they still mostly ignored me and continued to fight each other.

It didn't take long for me to figure out what was going on. They are farming CQs off of each other. Grab a buddy in your faction, head to Datamine, and take turns killing each other. It's a cheap way to get your CQ points up really quickly, especially if you are rotating about 5 other guys.

So should this be fixed? Kinda ruins the purpose of CQ points, a way to see someone's skill in PvP. Now it's just a way to see who spent the most time killing his buddy over and over. Discuss!

well couldn't you always do that with /suicide and/or dueling and reconstructing too fast as to give someone a cq

I suppose there are many other ways to do it, but this one seems the least complicated.

Well it costs money to get the books to go in, and you gotta wait to get back in and there is a chance you could get attacked while waiting to do that. So it isnt totally free. What Pirus said is way more "free".

heck if we wanted to we could get a group of 6 FA just find somewhere secluded and duel until I got the person I was dueling past half health and then that person can suicide after one of us rolls out... Instant CQ.  Rinse and Repeat.   Not too bad but I suppose typing /duel and typing /suicide is too tough for em :)  Then again by doing it in the construct you dont feel like youre cheating the system quite as much since they are hostile to you anyway.

I think they should fix it.

Since CQ's mean nothing, I don't see a problem with it.  Hell, I'd say 70% of my CQ's came from teaming with you guys.  :P

If PvP leaderboards ever get implemented (read: never), then there would definitely be cause for concern.

And I gotta say, Tbone sure knows how to piss people off.  :D  One look at DN1 and you'd think the world was coming to an end because Tbone made a comment.  You know that if anybody else had raised the issue the thread would have died down after ten replies.  But because Tbone brought it up, here come the torches and pitchforks.  :P

And freaking Sneaker has to jack off his ego some more and claim that the topic is "moot" and bring in his past grudges with FA.

If he weren't a Mod, that post would have been moved. End of.

Is there a way to subscribe to people's posts or something? It's like the same people who forum stalked me a year ago. Apparently it derailed to the point to where the entire thread was moved to the trash. Now I feel like if I ever want to get rid of a thread, I just have to post a thoughtful comment in them.

I don't think there is a way...
