I got this email...thought you guys would be entertained. I'm not sure exactly how to reply to him...heh.
"Hey Tbone,
this is LEFF, also commander of the Furious Angels - just another branch as it seems ;)
First of all: Sorry for not responding to your matrix-background too much - English is not my first language and I'm afraid of ridiculing myself if I indeed tried to roleplay with it.
The reason for my approach:
On May 20th Age of Conan will officially be released. I took this as a chance to contact you, because for this game a large playerbase is required - I'm not a big fan of massrecruiting randoms like most AoC guilds are doing it at the moment - and I browsing your pages I realized we have something in common there - yet I really want to play it.
We're quite ambitios when it comes to gaming. After being bored by WoW and several clones for the last month/years we are after some serious PVP once again ;) - AoC is really overhyped at the moment and we still want to make sure to start the game as one of the top guilds again.
My questions:
1) If you consider playing AoC at all, would be interesting in setting up a faction/Guild together with us ?
2) If you are not interested in AoC in particular, would you in general be interested in a partnership/cooperation/whatever - or doesn't that go along with your roleplaying?
I'll gladly tell you more about us, but since I dont even know if you want to play AoC or how much you are into expanding your community, this is probably enough to read for one evening...
apropos evening: Enjoy yours ;)
Kind regards,
LEFF"

Years from now we'll look back and say this was the day we took over the world.
-
How about forming a plan to decide if this is a good choice?
-Discussion within FA
-Information gathering
-Discussion between the factions
-Something else that looks good in a bulletpoint
I know nothing about the other FA. I doubt many of us do. I'd be afraid there would always be a "us vs. them" attitude with all involved. I find this email very interesting.
-
Is this the other FA we're referring to?

Was looking through their member list and Holy Christ they are huge. And yes Jeyk thats them, I saw LEFF in the member list. They have over 1000 members. I dont think we would make a dent in them if we did join anyway. Of course there is no telling how many are actually active.
-
We would have well over 1000 if we didn't delete anyone either.
-
I was going to say, "Tell him to stick a banana in his name copying behind", but then I found this...

also there is atleast 1 more FA out there. I have known about them for sometime now. http://www.fa-gaming.com
-
They have the same logo. A splinter group, perhaps?
-
I read that e-mail and just laughed.
We are not them. I would be very displeased if we were to merge with them, which I know that we're not.
-
a polite email. at the very least a response. personally i like us and our leadership structure however and would only want to grow organically.
-
Hmmm....
My first thoughts were to strap on my guns again and go hunting.....but sometimes diplomacy should at least be attempted first.....hehe.
Ok, so I'm not completely serious about that above comment.
-
From looking at their forms, they all seem like childish assholes.
-
There's only one true FA. Nuff said.
-
I believe a polite decline of the offer would be in order at this point in time.

you know fuse some of them could be Mechs and or Mervs from MXo....just a thought...

Agreed. Fun to think about, but mergers/divisions/etc. are inevitably far too problematic.
We got our own thing, and our own thing is great. These folks seem a bit too hardcore gaming for me.
-
dis ting of ours!
-
I personally think that we should avoid a merger simply because we don't know them and couldn't possibly interview all of them :P
seriously though, if they were in the same game as we are then I wouldn't mind a truce/amicable agreement but to join them would be, as Jeyk said, problematic, at best.

i didn't know we were even considering it /shrug
