Title: Post in this MXO boards thread for beta!
Post by: Anonymous on July 11, 2004, 05:26:25 pm
If any of you have not already, run don't walk to the MXO forums and post in the "What Makes a Good Game" thread, here:

http://thematrixonlineboards.warnerbros.com/newboards/thread.jspa?threadID=2000006888&tstart=0

This seems like a pretty obvious attempt to find some good beta testers, so post a message that is:

-At least a few sentences long
-Insightful
-Intelligent
-Well-organized
-Most importantly, good spelling and grammar.

If anyone has any other suggestions or examples of a beta-worthy post, please do reply with them.

funny likdi-i mean likwid. Heheh just kidding.

And how will this help us get into beta? Its just something theyre doing to get people interested in the game. The beta is supposedly "Random" when the actrual beta comes out, so this isnt "supposed" to affect anything. Besides, I use a different email for the MxO forums then the one I submitted.

That's not very smart lol. Likely even though it's "random" it'd be more likely that they'd "randomly" pick people who are showing more of an interest in the game, or the ones that seem to be keen on helping them out. Would you "randomly" pick from a group of people who are just there, or "randomly" pick from a group of people who are siked about your game and they're likely to give your game good reviews?

It couldn't hurt to be active in these weekly discussions. I encourage all of you to post your thoughts. Look at likwidtek's post or my post for an idea of what to say. Just please be sure and spell check and don't shortcut things like "u" for "you" and "4" for "for". It's the small things that count ;-)

Remember, Travisimo might be looking for a faction to Beta test. Be sure to add a Furious Angels sig to your account if you haven't done so already. Make me proud Angels!

Hmmm....I didnt take into consideration that Eclipse like's to start arguments whenever he can....

And I also forgot that MxO needs 70% reviews to basically stay about for more than a year.

Its to bad that if I made a new account (lost my old ones pas) that I would be flamed by the person who doesnt share my views, since I would be the proverbial "n00b"

As long as you sound intelligent, you shouldn't get flamed. Espeicially in a thread where everyone is trying to suck up!

It is imperative that we make a very good impression in the next two weeks or so. Please take the time to give some positive input to the weekly discussions, and also stop by our recruitment thread to post some cryptic messages. We need to show that we have a lot of mature members in our faction. Once again:

1. Make sure the Furious Angels is in your sig.

2. Triple check your posts for spelling and grammatical errors.

3. Use the appropriate format if posting in the recruitment thread.

Thanks!

Haha...I keep thinking of more stuff to say.

If you haven't done so, register an account at http://matrix.stratics.com. Stratics is the MxO Devs' favorite press outlet (they came to us with the exclusive on the Megacity Guide, but we weren't ready to host it, so they went to Gamespy). The devs will be checking that site as well, so I suggest we all become active members of that community as well. Also, it would help me out since I'm on staff there and they'll see all the cool people I attract to their site!

Hey guys, so far all of the FA posts I've seen have been really good.

Thanks for quoting me shortyforever77, It's ncie to see that somebody read my posts.

And I do think that participation in the community is important to be chosen for beta, as on the application there was a question that asked something like "Will you be active in the community?".(Hope nobody answered "no").

Beat is all about feedback, adn they want to pick people who will give the most valuable feedback.

No problem The.Watcher, your post on what makes great games was very... enlightening...

I just pray that my post was intelligent, and written well, so the Dev's catch notice...

Good job so far with being active in the weekly discussion and Stratics. I'm very proud to see both places littered with FA sigs! Just keep it up guys!!!

Wow, if I was a dev and hadn't heard of the Furious Angels yet, I would definitely be asking who they are after reading the "What Makes A Good Game" thread. We practically own it, and all the posts are of good calibur. Even our newest member, Theios, got involved! Nice sig by the way, Theios! Let's all make an effort to be just as active for next week's topic!
