Post by: Tbone on November 13, 2009, 03:04:35 pm
Make sure you create a new APB sig with the following template:

Then support our recruitment:

Also, Captains can begin promoting their squads for APB only

Wow, zero love from any of you. I got plenty of paddles but no one wants to help row?

I'm still trying to wrap my head around the "attitude" of our APB recruitment.  To me it comes off as arrogant, but I guess I'm the only one who sees it that way.

What is the mindset we're going for?

Badass nothing to lose don't give a shit. Deadly people with a troubled past. But very skilled and very focused. We don't need you. You need us.

So posts aren't

"Libertas Squad looking for a few happy police officers to help get rid of the graffiti in the town! Bring your badge and your baton and let's show those jaywalkers a thing or two."

Something more like

"Looking to be free? Free from this city? Free from this corruption? Free from the cage you've built around yourself? If you're willing to risk everything, you have the power to grant your own liberty. THE LIBERTAS SQUAD

http://apb.thefuriousangels.com

Ask for Commander Tbone of the Libertas Squad."

Basically, while in MxO people were in a prison created by the Matrix, in APB people are in a prison created by themselves or the corruption of the city.

The backstory I've created for myself is that right as I return home to San Paro after fighting in Afghanistan, my mother and sister are murdered in a random act of crime (wrong place, wrong time). This happens as I'm on my way to greet them after having been away. I pass the murderer exiting as I'm entering the building, find them dead, and provide enough evidence to get the guy arrested.

The guy gets out of jail on a technicality (judge/cops are paid off by the gang). I track the guy down myself and eliminate him, only to find out he is part of a much larger gang (I'm thinking the Blood Roses) that are now running the town. I confront the mayor about the corruption in the city and we have a conversation about how she's tied down by bureaucracy. I tell her someone like me doesn't have that problem. Furthermore, I have connections in the military with people who can basically wipe your identity, making you a ghost. I tell her it will take people who are ghosts to take out this corruption. She says "more like Angels".

An unofficial agreement is made. I'll be provided with inside intel and the law will turn a blind eye to the "mysterious clean up". I discover I'm not alone in my tragedy. There are others who have seen the corruption eat their world and want to take actions into their own hands. They come to me, have their identity wiped, and become part of the Furious Angels.

If/when we do an APB movie, this was my idea for it. Heh.

Thanks for supporting, Ana. I feel like you guys were itching to start recruiting, but since we've gone live with the APB Recruitment, I haven't had any support. We're supposed to look like a thriving guild - not something me and a guy with a girl's name created yesterday (ahahahahaha...sorry Ana!)

Yeah, I can churn them out if anyone needs one. I leave on Tuesday and will be away from my computer and files for a month, so someone else will have to take over after that. Not sure if I'm even gonna have internet for my laptop! Scaaaarrrry!!

Wouldn't be a problem if you moved over to Verizon with a Windows Mobile phone, like maybe, the Omnia.
