Good finds. I always try to remain skeptical about release dates, as they tend to be several months behind at the earliest.
The novel would indicate perhaps a summer release was intended, but rarely do MMOs release when "intended".
I think a good way to check is with the Holonet. The fact that all classes will be revealed soon is a good sign, but if you check the timeline, there are still 14 notches left to be filled. That's quite a lot. Even if they add one every two weeks, it means we're still 7 months away. For some reason I have October 2010 stuck in my head. I don't know where I saw that from, but it has always been my guess.

Well all the character classes have been revealed and they haven't got many planets to announce either...
I say Q2 2010.

October 2010 at the earliest, but definitely some time in Q4. Every other upcoming MMO is launching in spring/summer, to cash in on spring break/summer vacation.
Better to hold the game off for just a couple more months, get some extra polish and fine-tuning in, and let the hype from the other games die down. The launch may not be massive, but they will most likely see steady growth into 2011.

If they do it the way Manic is thinking too, it'll for sure make the game's launch that much smoother...God only knows I've gone through 2 or so MMOs from launch (Vanguard and Darkfall) where they were so not ready for launch, and what could've been amazing MMOs turned out to just wither and die from pita subscribers and an overall sense of lack of purpose in getting bugs fixed.

Q4 makes sense... but this game, if I recall, has been in development since '06. Saying that, I don't think Bioware would EVER release a game that was not finished or polished.

Unless you have shareholders and other big-wigs that tell them to release it to help the bottom line.
I've always had the opinion that they'll release it between Thanksgiving and Christmas next year.

I saw this but didn't post about it since it is a big speculation. Most of the "facts" of that article are very inaccurate.

yeah its a hot topic for discussion on the swtor forums, but its facts are pretty much wrong about everything else in the article so it doesnt lend much credit to the september date.
though BioWare has not denied it officially on the forums either making no statements one way or the other.
