Basically with Thursday's paycheck I hope to get all the parts I need to build a new computer. But I've haven't build one in awhile and feel a little out of date on terms and tech. So here is what I have put together so far and am asking for suggestions/changes.
Video Card (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121353) (I've had better results with Geforce then ATI but can be convinced to switch. Will be upgraded in a year or so.)
RAM (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231277) (Meh it's RAM to me, it's highly recommended on Newegg.)
Case and Power Supply (http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.458433) (I've only had luck with Antec and would like to stick with them, if it's not heavy, I don't trust it.)
Motherboard and CPU (http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.459161) (At some point, I plan on upgrading to a i5/i7.)
HDD (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136074) (HDD are HDDs, I don't need that much space. I get by on 80 great right now.)
And with the $50 for Windows 7 Ultimate (I know a MS FTE that can get it for me at the MS Store) should bring the total to $600ish.

Is this being built for the Old Republic or for general gaming?
As long as you DO plan on upgrading the CPU and GPU i think this current setup should be able to handle most games decently. The games you'd probably see bad fps drops lower than 30 with are probably GTAIV, Just Cause 2, Farcry2 / Crysis, Shattered Horizon, and probably Metro2033. Other than that i believe that card should be able to push just about anything else on medium/high with tweaked settings and still get decent framerates (30 and above). I pretty much had the laptop equivalent of that card and if the benchmarks are anything to go on, it's an ok card for the price.
As for my definition of decent framerate, i mean anywhere between 20-30 fps. Some people say that you can't tell the difference above 30, but for me i can see the difference as long as it's below 60. If you're like me and like running things at 40-60 fps than you might not be satisfied with the card.
In all honesty though, I would probably say to get an ATI 48xx or 58xx series card for an upgrade when possible. They're a bit more expensive compared to your current choice but they really are great "bang for your buck" cards. Nvidia cards have MUCH better driver support but are really overpriced for the small margin of performance increase. This is coming from an Nvidia fanboy.
Edit: after looking up the prices of a 4870, i honestly think for the extra few bucks that it would be a MUCH better choice. ATI HD4870 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121376&cm_re=ATI_4870-_-14-121-376-_-Product)

General gaming, mostly to get back into what the faction plays. LoL and SWTOR are going to be my big ones.

I agree with everything Arch said. Although with a 240, the one you listed before, you could run most of the games he mentioned.
I can run Crysis on mostly high with good frame rate, Metro 2033 perfectly fine, Farcry 2, and the other two I'm not sure. And I'm using the 220, which is lower than the one you want. Also, glad to hear you'll be playing LoL. I'd love to join in on that.

Ordered, only one piece is coming from CA. :-(. Went with the video card you put Arch, so if it goes bad I blame you, bumped up to a 750GB HDD, because it was only $10 more, also found a good deal with an i5, so I went with that too.

Nicely done!
ATI drivers are kinda meh sometimes. That's my only gripe with ATI. Other than that, you'll be loving this card.

This is awesome to hear.
Nothing is more exciting than waiting for those pieces to get there, and then once you get them opening them up makes it feel like christmas.
I can't wait until winter time, buying myself a new desktop.

Does this mean we can expect you to be playing TOR, Eroz? If so, you'll need to choose a class and Order!
