We need artwork for the "Holovid" that plays at the end of the challenge. If you're wondering what sort of style I'm thinking of, go to the TOR site and look at their timeline videos. Voiceover with still images, essentially. So we need exciting still images for this voiceover to play over:
This is Tbone, leader of the Furious Angels. If you're listening to this, then you have shown potential and passed the test. The Furious Angels is a group of force-sensitive warriors who have always protected the Light and fought the Dark. We work in secret - in the shadows - to protect the galaxies. Many of history's war heroes and powerful Jedi have secretly been a Furious Angel. Because of our inherit connection to the Force, we are able to train in extreme combat techniques without fear of being tempted to the Dark Side. Whether you've been trained as a Jedi, a trooper, or even a smuggler, you have this same connection. What we are asking of you is a lot - to dedicate your entire self to our cause, but it is your choice. Choose carefully.
If I need to make changes to the voiceover, I can. It's just the first draft. Any volunteers to try and create this?

If I had a tablet I would be into this one. I'll see if I can borrow someone else's, but I'm not sure if anybody would be willing to do that.

I'll give a shot at this. If there's any ideas to work off though, I'd find it to be a lot of help. As I've mentioned in my other art post, I'm not a drawer. So the more detail I have to work off, the better.

This is an option. It's recycling images from the holonet of swtor.com, so it will be recognizable to most everyone who goes through the challenge. I'd prefer to have our own unique content, but I'm not hopeful that we can get the kind of quality that we want.

Hmm, well I'll try to start working on some variations of these exact images. Pretty much things that give off the same idea.

I'll see if i can get something out of Loki. I know he's really skilled at drawing. Perhaps a collab?
I'll be talking it over with him tonight to see what can be done on his end.

I'm down to work with you guys on this. Sadly my Deviant Art page doesn't have a lot of my work since I haven't had a scanner until a few days ago. And sadly my stuff is still works in progress because of that same reason. My scanner should be arriving this week and I have a Bamboo tablet with Photoshop CS5. I have a lot of drawing experience and I'm still a beginner with Photoshop but I am practicing. I do have a couple of other projects I'm working on but I can make time to work on this and I'm really interested. I'll try to be on Teamspeak but I'm always on Steam or you can PM me if anything!

Sweet Loki, looking forward to seeing what you can produce! If you need help once it's drawn, I'm sure Manic could help with any effects or anything you'd like to add via PS, if he's willing to of course.
* Don't tell anyone, but I can draw pretty well, I just don't want to try that ON TOP of coding half the challenge... ;)

Awesome! I got my scanner in today so I uploaded a few of my recent works if you guys wanna check it out. Also I swung by the comic book shop today and I saw that Dark Horse released a 3 issue Star Wars comic book based on The Old Republic. I figured we could also draw some inspiration from those. You guys let me know and if anything I'll go pick them up!

Uh, Loki. I'm envyous of your skillz. I've always wanted to be able to draw like that, so I'm going to order a Bamboo Tablet (not sure if I'm getting the normal drawing tablet or the one up from it that combines the touch and drawing aspect) once my M11x is ordered :)
Anyone know of good tutorial sites for drawing? I've gone through endless Google searches and they're all pretty crap :/

Lol thanks. I've been drawing since I could hold a pencil. I'm still messing around with my tablet. I don't have a good feel for it yet. I'll try to find some tutorials and I'll let you know if anything. But honestly the best way to go about it is by studying comics and other peoples artwork. You pick up bits and pieces here and there and you eventually come up with your own style. Hope that helps and good luck!

Subb, I'd say like anything man just make it a hobby and practice practice. I feel with something like art if you follow guides and stuff you won't develop your own style. Just start drawing. LOTS. They may suck at first but if it's a passion and a hobby you will get better and enjoy yourself.
Like anything in life I'm sure it takes a lot of time and experience.

Do you think there's enough in-game footage to piece something together? I put together a demo of using still images, and it looks like some documentary I was forced to watch in school.

Its pretty good. But it would be so much cooler to make the images from scratch. We could make some of the characters in the images look like us. We could also put some sound effects here and there. We could make something unique and it would grab peoples attention. But its up to you guys.

I think I'm going a different direction with the video. The still images with the Tbone voice over just seems too boring. So I edited together a new video with in game footage and wrote a new voice over that I hope can sound more like a movie trailer. Tomorrow I'll try to record the audio and find a better song that fits the action. Here's the new stuff I'm working on - just ignore the audio and FA symbol stuff for now...

I prefer your original idea, Boss. Original artwork from Loki would reek awesomeness and add to our mystique. Just my 2 cents.

I'd prefer Loki's art too, BUT it would take us quite a while to get it all done.

Lol thanks for the vote of confidence guys. I can have my stuff sketched and inked somewhat quickly but I don't know how much detail you guys would want in them. Plus I'm not sure how long it would take to color it all in.

Updated with audio. Still need to add SFX and create transitions and whatnot. I like this better than the still pictures.

They either have a really good voice actor or they got that audio from somewhere that happens to fit good with the Mandalore. Also, did they create all of that or just rip it from the holovid and other things. It was very well done...

It's well done, but in some stages it's awkward. They're all holovids from SW:TOR.

wow, loki, just wow. I've been working on some concept sketches that I thought our photoshop guys could use to make something cool, but this just goes to prove a point I've argued for years: Inkers kick line artists asses. I'm really impressed man.
