Making the videos for each Order made me really concentrate on each of their meanings. Then I started thinking what if we can extend that meaning into actual goals and purposes. This could mainly be for RP, but could easily bleed over into actual functionality as well. The following are my thoughts. Please give feedback.
Freedom. Knowledge. Truth. Speed. Exploration. Balance. Combat.
Libertas (video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4eiwtuvJCqE)) - Commander Tbone
Little bit of everything
A good mix of all classes. Heavily involved in both PvP and RP, being the flagship of the faction.
Freedom - The Libertas Order specializes in rescue type missions. Extractions of those imprisoned is one example, but the Libertas' function extends past this. Perhaps a minority is being suppressed or there is a great war being waged against invaders. The Libertas can be an extraction team or war heroes fighting for freedom. Or perhaps even diplomats to bring about a democratic society.
Emeritus (video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R-trF7x6CYs)) - Lt. Commander Broin
Organizing information, Force-wielders (Consulars)
Made up of force users. Heavily involved in both PvP and RP.
Knowledge - The Emeritus Order prides itself on knowing all there is to know in the galaxy. Planets, races, dates, names, locations - if you're looking for information, you should check with a member of the Emeritus. Their knowledge extends past book-learning, however, as they are the prime students of the Force. Able to manipulate the Force like no other, most members of the Emeritus are Consulars.
Veritas (video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yQy_prHnRCU)) - Master Anamodiel
Recruitment, Alliances, Diplomacy
A mix of all classes. Heavily involved in both PvP and RP.
Truth - The Veritas Order focuses on seeing through the veil of deception. The Sith are masters of manipulation, but the Veritas are masters of the truth. They are very convincing orators, and are key in getting allies for the Furious Angels. When someone has been blinded by the Dark Side, the Veritas are there to bring them back to the Light.
Velox - Master Archnemesis
Helping newbies, PvP, Being Available
Mixed, though mostly non-force classes. Focused more on PvP.
Speed - The Velox Order acts as an extremely cohesive tactical unit. They are ready at a moment's notice to aid in any fight or any situation. They are the first responders of the Furious Angels - the ones the Angels look to in case of an emergency. Always on guard - always on call.
Ad Astra - Master ManicVelocity
Exploration, Recording data, Crafting
Mixed, though mostly non-force classes. Involved in PvP and RP. Good Order for crafters, as well.
Exploration - The Ad Astra Order are explorers at heart, venturing to all corners of the galaxy to discover what hasn't been discovered. They are key in gathering key intel for the Angels, who, up until recently, have mainly stayed near Iego. If Emeritus members write the book, Ad Astra members are the ones who do the leg work to get the research.
Aequitas (video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tU5M_e4gNRI)) - Master Adad
Recon, Counter-Intelligence, Force-Sensitive
Made up of force users. Involved in PvP and RP.
Balance - There is no Light side without the Dark side, and the Aequitas Order is very aware of that. Know your enemy, and that's where the Aequitas comes in. Aequitas members must have a very strong connection to the Force, as they experiment with the Dark side in order to learn and grow from it. A balance must be maintained - both in the galaxy and within, and Aequitas members are perfect at walking that tightrope, delivering justice where it is needed most.
Praelium (video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0HcH7IyPPQI)) - Master Nocry
PvP, Combat, Overseas or odd hours
Mixed classes. Designed for members with non-US or odd hours (European members, etc.). Mostly PvP, but RP as well.
Combat - The Praelium Order could be considered the "Furious" part of the "Furious Angels". Considered to be a blood-thirsty bunch, they are highly skilled warriors who use all the knowledge they have at hand to be stronger fighters. If there's a war being waged in the galaxy, Praelium members will be at the front lines.

As I mentioned, I think it could be cool for different Orders to kinda act as their role. So Veritas would be involved with recruitment...Emeritus with maintaining a knowledge bank...Ad Astra would collect data on stuff..Velox would have to drop whatever their doing if someone needed help (helping newbies)...Praelium should be available for PvP...maybe Aequitas would end up doing some recon on enemies...Libertas would do a little of everything.
-
I'm absolutely loving this. It'll definitely help with new recruits that are undecided with which order they wish to join.
-
I'm really digging this, especially the Veritas role. It's what I've envisioned my SW:TOR character to be, and one thing I can see myself definitely getting into once the game releases.
-
Like it; like it a lot. I think PVE too however, we are fighters but not only of player controlled characters. That being said, I would not change even one word of your summary. Subbey, others, what you think?
-
Like them. Even enjoyed that I picked the right ship still then.
-
Love this idea. Love the descriptions. Love the possibilities.
I also feel like I fit best with the Aequitas.
-
Makes me feel better knowing that it's ok if I spend time figuring out how the game works and conducting field experiments :-)
min-maxer 4 lyfe!
-
Excellent fit for me, I like it.
-
Awesome, I love exploring!
-
I think the descriptions will certainly help new applicants pick out the order that is right for them.
And I can safely say my smuggler is perfectly placed. I might be hiding on the flanks of the front line, but I'm there.
-
Love it! Each description paints a very clear image.
I only hope that this doesn't wind up with people feeling pigeon-holed into a role with the Order they've chosen. FA always shines brightest when we work together as a single group. Each Order may represent a particular idea, but we all act as one.
-
Ok, I've added in descriptive roles that reflect on each Order. As Manic mentioned, this isn't meant to force anyone into a specific role, but just to give more meaning to each Order and perhaps give them a group goal to work on.
-
Love it T. You nailed what I was imagining Aequitas to be. Well done.
-
I like this so, so much. You rock, Tbone.
-
Just noticed this in the Ad Astra description:
"They are key in gathering key intel..."
It sounds repetative. Maybe change the first "key" to "crucial"?
-
Maybe a subconscious effort to enforce that Ad Astra is the 'key' to the Furious Angels....but more than likely not since that's Aequitas.
-
As I mentioned, I think it could be cool for different Orders to kinda act as their role... ...Libertas would do a little of everything.
Just like my Info states on our Roster..."Damn near Everything"
Love it!

Working on a page to showcase the Orders. Everything seems to be coming together nicely:

-
Very helpful indeed... Aequitas is definitely the right fit for me...
-
I like the order page, but I think the order of information just doesn't feel right, I would prefer to see something like. That way its RP info as a hook for each order, then the IRL info.
Master Manicvelocity
Exploration. The Ad Astra Order are explorers at heart, venturing to all corners of the galaxy to discover what hasn't been discovered. They are critical in gathering key intel for the Angels, who, up until recently, have mainly stayed near Iego. If Emeritus members write the book, Ad Astra members are the ones who do the leg work to get the research.
Exploration, Recording data, Crafting. Mixed, though mostly non-force classes. Involved in PvP and RP. Good Order for crafters, as well. - Two Slots Left

Well done. Love the videos. I am glad to be a part of the Libertas Order.

You can add the video links to the two missing them now
