In an attempt to increase our outreach into the community and stay on top of community events, Manicvelocity has stepped up to become our new Guild Liaison! Much like Anamodiel deals with recruits who might join FA, Manic will be dealing with entire guilds that may or may not become our friends or enemies.
To give you an idea of the different things Manic will be doing, I'm copying some of the goals I sent to him:
Guild Liaison Responsibilities
1. Work out three other guilds to enter into Phase 2 with.
2. Work with MxO guilds to see if everyone wants to be on the same server.
3. Closely monitor the SWTOR guild forums and get us involved in community guild events and threads.
4. Closely monitor our HQ forums and other means of communications for guilds reaching out to us.
5. Get us involved in the monthly guild meetings the community is currently holding.
6. Create a master list of liasons for guilds we communicate with, past and present.
As you can see, there's actually a lot to it. We're hopeful that Manic is the right guy for the job!

Congrats Manic! From his various posts and statements, i feel he'll fit the role quite nicely!

Congrats Manic!

Wow, sounds like a tough job. I'm confident that Manic can handle it, though.
Congratulations on being chosen, Manic! Now hop to it; those guilds won't liase themselves.
-
Congrats! No pressure or anything!
-
Sweet. Another notch to the FA belt.
Nice one Manic.

Did Manic volunteer for this or was his inebriation taken advantage of? ;)

WTF?! I WAKE UP AND FIND THIS? WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED LAST NIGHT?!
Really though, I'm happy to do it. And I appreciate the encouragement. Tbone has already sent me a list of appropriate contacts whom I'll be getting in touch with today.
We have a few guilds who recognize us from the MxO days and I'm making it a goal to get us all on the same server. As much as we all butted heads back then, there was always an underlying respect for one another. The MxO community as a whole was/is a very passionate bunch, and getting us all together again can only be a good thing.
Apparently there are already whole guild meetings taking place in the TOR community which seem to have passed us by. We'll definitely need to dig in with that in order to broaden our reputation.
Here's to a great future with TOR!

Some men wake up from a night of fun next to a beautiful woman. Others wake up next to a chicken, a tiger, and the Dali Lama. Manic wakes up to extra guild responsibilities. ;)
Congrats, Manic!

Gratz, Diplomanic

I find it appropriate that as Master of the Ad Astra Order, Manic will be exploring the frontier of inter-guild relationships.
Don't bring back any venereal diseases :-D

nice one.

Just realized the title under my name is misspelled.
Should have gone with "Diplomanic". Can't screw that up.

This may be something interesting to look into?

Awesome find! This is the letter I sent them (Tbone, keep an eye on your inbox):
The Furious Angels is a long-standing guild dating back to 2004 with The Matrix Online. Our mysterious roleplay as well as our intricate "recruitment challenge" drew the eyes of hundreds of players, as well as the developers of the game. We were featured in many articles and interviews leading up to the game's launch, and we maintained our strong reputation throughout the game's five-year lifespan.
Since the closing of MxO we have dabbled in many MMO's both new and old. All Points Bulletin, Darkfall, Star Wars Galaxies, EVE Online and Champions Online, just to name a few.
Our goals, as we tell all of our new recruits, is to have fun as a team. At the time of this writing, we have a membership of 81 members, and we are averaging two new applications each week. We consist of a strong mix of PvE and PvP play styles, though we tend to emphasize more of the PvP side. We also take a strong interest in roleplaying. Many, if not all of us, develop intricate backstories for our characters, and it's not uncommon that we stay in-character during gameplay even during heavy PvP. We really try to make ourselves part of the game universe.
Our preparations for TOR's launch are already well-underway. We've created an entirely new recruitment challenge for The Old Republic, which applicants can find at www.followthesignal.net. Completion of the challenge, however, does not earn one a spot in the guild. Merely an interview. We want people who show their dedication by making their way through the challenge, and then see if they mesh well with us on a personal level. We really strive for quality over quantity when it comes to membership. We have had to reject a number of applicants in the past.
Currently I, as Guild Liaison for FA, am in contact with other guild leaders to arrange for the upcoming "Phase 2" of the TOR Guild Program. Many old veterans from The Matrix Online have cropped up in the TOR community, and there is a real interest in getting everyone on the same server again. We all got to know each other very well during our stay in MxO, and we're all eager to meet each other on the battlefield once again.
If you would like to contact our leader, Tbone, for an interview, he can be reached at [tbone (at) followtheangel (dot) org].
