Title: Application Help
Post by: Kahae on July 27, 2011, 08:56:26 pm
Howdy, I have been trying to apply to the guild for a while now. I have completed the Follow the Signal thing 3 times now, but alas every time at the end when it asks for the forums username and password, The application freezes, and puts me back at the start of the tests.  Any help would be appreciated.

Can you be more specific? What are you doing on the application screen when it freezes? Does it happen after you try to log in? Does it happen as soon as the screen pops up?

Exactly at the Login screen. "Logging in..." and then it freezes.

Hi Kahae,

Can you please right click on the flash player and read me back the version numbers next to 'FollowTheSignal' and 'Adobe Flash Player'.

Thanks!

I have already closed it off when it did a replay, sorry. I'll give it another go sometime tomorrow.

Ok, well you can right-click at any point. You don't have to have it completed to grab that info.

Make sure you see something like 10.3.x.x next to 'Adobe Flash Player' otherwise you'll want to find and install the latest flash player.

That's all good, Flash is up to date.

Hmm, I know this sounds like a pretty standard response but it might be a good idea to try completing it on a different computer.

But, otherwise just off the top of my head though it could be a firewall issue or an oddball mis-configured setting somewhere. I don't think it should matter but just curious as to what your Operating System and Browser you use are?

Anyway, so far this is the first report of anyone having this problem so I'd like to see if we can fix it with something as simple as a different computer and then we can go from there.

I'll try it on the desktop when I get home tomorrow, as of right now, I'm on a Laptop running Windows 7 and Google Chrome.

I use Windows 7 and Chrome with no problems.

Someone recently said they had an issue with Chrome and the application.
Firefox and IE seem to both work fine, so if you try again and it doesn't work on Chrome, try one of them
