Exclusive Operation Information (http://torwars.com/2011/07/28/gamestar-magazine-tells-secrets-of-swtor-operations/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+Torwars+%28TORWars%29)
The new information:
-8 and 16 man raids available
-different difficulties - loot scales with difficulty
-bosses drop "loot bag" for each individual player (no fighting over one loot item!)
-
Loot bag = win.
-
Only one Operation up at launch, so we'll have plenty of time to gear ourselves for the next steps AND get PvP gear.
-
I'll be up for helping on any Raid's with this many active people in the angel's it shouldn't be hard to get people together to do it!
-
The loot bag is a very nice idea, I wonder if when you start to get Duplicate items -- since it belongs to you from your bag, if they are BoE or BoP.

I've been considering Operations for a while now. Specifically Op team make up.
The 8 man Op Team would maybe consist of something like:
Tanks: 2 - Ideally 1 melee and 1 ranged
Healers: 2-3 - A healer on each tank and a raid healer that could also dps when the two primary healers can handle incoming damage
DPS: 3 with at least two being ranged
The 16 man Op Team would be maybe something like:
Tanks: 2 - Ideally 1 melee and 1 ranged
Healers: 3 - A healer on each tank and a raid healer
DPS: 11 with at least one that could tank and one that could heal to be swing players in the right situations. Based on what I've seen in game play I think there should be a ratio of 2 ranged for each melee dps.
As for organization I would think based on what we know teams of 8 (maybe from each order) should complete raids to learn the content then two 8 man teams get together to give the 16 man content a run. This assumes that the 8 man raids are a little easier to run based on content and scheduling. It would be nice to do something like run 8 mans during the week on these days to learn content then run a 16 man later in the week on these other days. If the raids share a lockout then it would be run an 8 man this week to get ready for the 16 man next week.
I love the idea of order based teams but I think we'll end up getting OP teams from people who play at similar times rather than strictly orders.
Loot bags are a great idea.
Do we have a raid coordinator/leader yet? Basically someone that has the point on all things raiding? Might be a good idea to appoint one sooner rather than later.
