So how long does it REALLY take to get 1-50. I know the 200 hours statement by bioware is way high.

It will probably take me that or longer, I like to savor the experience, exploring every nook and cranny, letting my time roll around like fine wine... ecumm oh excuse me.. or at least thats how I have played bioware games up until now.

It greatly depends on if you skip cutscenes. I played solo for a little over a month and got to 49. That's without any heroics/flashpoints and I paid attention to dialogue.

Oh wow over a month? That's crazy I actually would like it taking that long. I am just worried since when I did the last beta weekend there was a couple of people who got to about 38. If that could be done in 72 hours I assumed you could get to 50 in no more than 100-110. I want it to last... so I hope it does take at least a month of fairly heavy play to get 50. Thanks T!

They got to level 38 in three days? I suppose if you spacebar'd through all the dialogue and didn't sleep it might be possible. I think my plan is to do grouping as much as possible but skip the dialogue when I'm doing something solo since I've done it before. There are still 7 other stories to play through at some point, so I'm not too worried about it :)

3 days would be some serious hardcore leveling without any crafting, gathering, pvp (maybe some warzones they do have good xp), no space combat, pretty much just quest grinding and skipping all dialogue so light and dark choices would have been randomized....
I would really suggest NOT going that route. you have some gear based on alignment, gathering skills need to be utilized at the very least to keep cash flow. And lets not forget as Tbone has said, grouping is a big one too. those social points suffer unless you are really getting into a lot of groups.
it would also mean you basically did nothing for your companions either since they play at least a minor role in your overall class story.
I say enjoy the ride with the class instead of worrying about reaching the top. We'll get there and have a long time to be at the top.

Yeah if you don't want to enjoy the game, spacebar and a strict all beagle bites and monster diet would be the way to go. It takes a good deal of time to listen to the story and interact, I wouldn't worry too much about it being a short experience.

Yea, I'm personally going to just "space bar" my way through most of the story unless its my class story, but still....space bar!!!!

You can get to level 50 in 6 days if you really want to. It takes roughly 70-80 hours if you spacebar through and 140-160 if you listen to all the voice acting.

LOL I'm definitely NOT skipping the story or power level. Maybe further toons but yeah.
So we're going to have to make different kinds of leveling teams. Power levelers and Lore lovers.

i'll see y'all at 50 around February 20th i imagine. I've notoriously been out-leveled by everyone i have ever played with.

I've heard these estimates a few times. Basically if you play the game how it's designed with story interaction I've heard from various sources you should expect 150-200 hours of playtime to level 50. If you skip the conversations you can cut that down by maybe half.
That said, I'm planning on 150 hours of game time AND I plan on leveling hard. I'm considering 10+ hour days until I hit the promise land of level 50. Basically playing hard but not powerleveling and missing the fun at least the first time to 50.
I expect we'll have a pre-order headstart of 7 days and I expect to take off work during that time. Depending on how much I can push I'd like to see level 50 before Christmas. Then enjoy the holiday season PvPing and helping other angels get to 50. Getting back after the new year we could set up raid teams and times and start pushing the Sith back to deep space.
That's my plan and I'm sticking to it.

Wow. I was planning on putting in like 45 to 50 hours this weekend. Looks like it wont net me lvl 50!

I'm probably going to spacebar through a good bit since I've already played my class 1-50, but I did that on purpose so that I will be able to focus on helping others.

Its not as fun listening to the same voice acting for a 3rd or 4th time.
Oh an I will be power leveling since I have already played though the majority of my class story last build and plan to hit max this build.

It is ok Saint. I don't plan on skipping a thing and pretty much doing exactly as you said. Exploring everything. So we will probably level at relatively the same rate! Aequitas group GO!

Ya, I am really looking forward to the story and looking at everything, so if I don't get into beta I will also be doing these things when we finally get in. Looks like it's going to be an Aequitas lore party.
