Title: Razor Blade ( laptop )
Post by: ReReminiscence on October 03, 2011, 10:22:21 pm
So I've been looking at this thing for a while. I have the way to get one money wise but is it worth it spec wise and all of the bells and whistles? Or should I just drop the money on a desktop over the gaming laptop? I need a new system regardless but I am mobile a lot with school and nothing beats playing SWToR in Biology lecture .

Get a good Desktop and then get an off the shelf decent Laptop if you need one. It'll probably be cheaper and the same level of performance.

Yeah, you might want to look at ibuypower first before attempting anything on your own... of course unless you want to make building a desktop your hobby. :)

Well I've tried using that site and I'm just not sure if My set ups are the best they could be for my budget. I mean things like power supply whats the best mother board, how much ram how many video cards what video cards all of that is like Aurabesh to me ( then again I can speak  Aurabesh but that's not the point. ) Not to mention AMD or Nvidia @w@

You could probably get this without any tweaks and be good to go: http://www.ibuypower.com/Store/Gamer_Paladin_F850

Well within your budget. Make sure to get the free upgrades (for instance, right now you can upgrade the vid card to 2GB for free). Also, if you need a monitor, grab a 24" (Sceptre is what I use) and a basic speaker system if you need it.

Other than that, make sure you have a Razer Naga mouse http://www.razerzone.com

Also a nice headset is important since you'll be using TS.

I would personally would go with cyberpower (http://www.cyberpowerpc.com/) because you save about $100-$200 that you can use to buy the tor keyboard or something else.

Get a desktop. I have a laptop because my previous livng conditions made it impossible to have a desktop. Also, this razor blade thing is waaaaaay over priced for the sub par specs.
