This is definately the best RTS I have played in a loooooooong time. Deployment and posistion of your units can actually effect the outcome of a battle moreso than in any other game I've played. If any of you are interested, sprint over to fileplanet *QUICK* for the Open Beta. The codes are first come first serve so you'll have to hurry.

I'm really interested in this: the units think for themselves for the first time in an rts apparently, like they will try to stay alive on their own accord, whether thats scattering from a grenade or running for cover or whatever. Again, you guys get it stateside long before me so tell me what its like when you got a copy. :D

Duh, I forgot the links..
http://www.fileplanet.com/betacenter/dawnofwar/signup/ - There should be a load of codes left, so you have to register with Fileplanet and send in the beta app here. Just keep sending the beta app til they send you a code :]

I am definitely interested in this game, I've read a lot about it, unfortunately, with things I have coming up, I don't think that I'll have time for yet another RTS... :(
Just out of curiosity, has anyone in the FA everyplayed the Warhammer tabletop game?

No, though I've wanted to. It's too expensive for me.

Online, the gameplay seems to come down to "build lots of units, then build lots of buildings, and rinse, repeat." Not much strategy involved.

This it too true, and seems to be that way for most RTSes out there, although some used that to their advantage (The Original Homeworld) by making that an element of the game, focusing on ships/units rather then buildings (in the game I believe there is only 1 building besides the Mothership, and that's the Research Ship, needed for R&D to build more ships...).

I dunno where you're playing.. But where I'm at it matters where you put your units and where you lure the opponents to. Though you could kill the fun and just do the rushing bit, but you can do that with any RTS.
