Title: Wow! 2005 Mustang
Post by: Anonymous on August 05, 2004, 03:33:15 pm
Has any one seen the new 40th aniversity 2005 Mustang? It's a thing of beauty. If you love the original (and I do) this is the closest to the feel of the 1964 1/2 model. Popular Mechanics August issue has the whole history of the Mustang, from Lee Iavcco's original concept (a hard push after the disaterous Edsel) to the latest rendition & concept car. D00d, Mustangs ROCK!

Mustangs do kick-ass, and the 2005 is really nice.  I too love the classic models more than the modern ones, but this one beats all.

In my opinion that looks a lot more like a BMW car now, just a slightly different style around the headlights

Heh, I just sold my '69 mustang for 5 grand, and bought myself a shiny, well not shiney or new, 64 1/2 mustang, for only 2 grand more Yay'! I finally have my dream car!

Btw, I actually dont like the '05 look or design. Its too, I dont know, it just turns me off. The '04 is a sweet car, however.

Hey Zink.  So you're an organ donor ? :-)

I bought a brand new GSX R750 about five years ago and crashed it a year ago.  I've never been happier to wear a helmet.  I was lucky to get away with just road burns and a bruised knee.  I have pictures if you want to feel my pain :-)  Like slidding down a cheese grater with your bare skin exposed.

Here's a famous quote:

First guy: "Oh that guy fell off his bike !  And he lost is helmet !"
Second guy: "He wasn't wearing a helmet".

hehehhe. yah dude, but the only difference between people who crash their bikes and people who dont is that the people that do are usually trying to do something stupid, one wheeling it, swerve is traffic. shit like that.

just about anyone who rides bikes will put it down at some point in their life.  there's just too many factors involved regardless of skill.

on topic, OMG that mustang is horrid :(

Hey man when I crashed it I wasn't doing anything crazy.  I was going 35 MPH in slow traffic.

When you'll have a bike you'll understand that you crashing or not doesn't have everything to do with how skilled or careful you are.  You might be driving very carefully, just cruising and all of a sudden some soccer mom in a mini-van pulls out of a driveway, gets in your lane and almost runs you over because she didn't see you.  She was too busy shouting at her kids or putting make-up on.

You wouldn't believe how many times that happened to me.  In broad day light.  When you're on a bike, you're smaller so people either don't see you or unconsciously ignore you because of you size.

Contrary to what they say, size does matter :-)  Nobody can miss a 18-wheeler tractor trailer.  Many people can miss a 300 pounds motorcycle.

And you're so light that when you're on a highway and a tractor trailor passes you at high speed, it moves so much air that your bike gets pulled in under it.  You have to lean your bike the other way to counter that effect.  The first time you experience that it's kind of surprising.

One more thing.  On a car, when a tire loses traction because of sand or water, there's still three to rely on.  On a bike you only have one left.  That's often not enough to keep control of it.  Especially if you're going fast or turning.

Anyways, I hope you wear a helmet.  I'd probably be a veggie now if I hadn't had one on.  I landed on my head at 35 MPH.  Instead I just broke a bone and left some flesh on the pavement.

Take it from a guy that had the same mindset a few years ago and knows better now.

Anyways, I'm done with the lecture :-)

I guess I don't want one of the Furious Angels to actually become one for real ;-)

Luckily I've been graced enough not to have spilled my bike, starting out I stalled it plenty of times, but I haven't gone down yet and hope to God I never will, cause that will most definitely suck.

well in 2 weeks i can drive it again, when you have a car that can reach speeds over 200 mph, don't try it when there is a speed camera coming up, a tip for you all.
