Title: Projekt Revolution
Post by: Anonymous on August 17, 2004, 11:27:52 am
This is unreal.  My pastor's kid wanted to go to the Projekt Revolution Tour - Linkin Park, Korn, Snoop Dogg, The Used, you get the picture.  My pastor stated very clearly that he, "would rather be shot in the head" than have to sit through hours of heavy metal music.

Enter lead guitarist from church's edgy worship band:

He just landed me his son & I stagefront seats, like row 17 or something, & he's paying me to take his kid to the show.  How's that work?

Sorry for the lame post, but I had to boast!!!!     :D

Yeah, I went on the 6th, two weeks ago. Great times. Something a bit odd about The Used, Linkin Park and Snoop Dogg in the same tour, though. Seriously, it was great though.

As I turn green with envy for backstage passes, I am forced to vote for Cosmic Drama as "King-of-all-things-Voice-Chatty"   -    :D

Did someone say edgy worship band? You just don't see that in a sentence often.

Hey I enjoy a good pipe organ every now and then.  :p

Seriously though is edgy worship band kind of like saying alternative rock. I mean does it have like its own genre? Like country metal and edgy worship. Oh, and just in case this is coming off as offensive to someone it isn't meant to be just asking.

No, it's cool.  Your close, but it depends on who you talk to.  It could be called Christian Rock, Christian Alternative Rock, or Contemporary Christian.  But for me, I just slam some distortion in where I think it needs it, maybe a little wah, some delay....

Then viola!  'Holy crap!  This guy is Crazy-Go-Nuts!!!'  It's a lot of fun!

I don't know Grim, synthetic drums can be cool, but I don't think you can beat out the sound of a good ol' fashioned drum set

eh i am a fan of tranditional drums ... but the synths can do some fun things .... like you can make it bark like a dog ... hit the different drums and you get a dog choir .... on drums ... like a keyboard .... but i still like the traditionals better .... plus .... bongos rule .... :D :D :D
