Well they have until November to get all this crap straightened out. I'm guessing so far all they really have done is just come up with what they want to have in the package and a few nice ideas. It doesn't appear anything has been done as far as implementation. Hopefully within the next month or two we have something concrete on all of this.

EBGames locally (for me, anyway) has a release date of October 17, which would allow generously for a month of beta and the early entry to the live Matrix. When I asked them about it, though, they knew nothing as well. Still, the date looks more promising.

Jacking into the game three days before the launch can be considered beta, right?
The only question I have is how will Ebgame/Gamespot/etc. give me the game three days early. If I was order direct from WB/SOA then I would be happy to preorder, but until I get a disk for preordering, I'm not.

I don't think that the extra three days are just beta test. They will probably wipe the servers and then give the people who pre-ordered the game three days early. The stores could actually recieve it days in advance but not actually sell it until a few days later. Another thing is, there may be a limited amount of "pre-order boxes" or something so not everyone will be able to do it. I don't have anyway to confirm these ideas but I guess no one does.

I know it's nice and all but to be honest I am tired of beta been doing that in SWG since its launch. I hope these guys get the bugs worked out before launch. I don't know if lack of any real beta news is a good or a bad thing.

I believe it was Adonai that pointed out that the game must be going great. If the game turned out awesome, WB would lose a lot of royalty money because of it's 75% rule or w/e that is. Since WB BOUGHT Monolith, we can assume that the game must be going really well, (because they probably A) Do not want to lose that much in lost income, and B) They see Monolith is good at what they do, might as well aquire them and not leave them open to offers from others.)

Beta's are not full version of the game, they are beta's.Uncomplete, unfinished, not entirely fixed.Don't expect something competely perfect in a beta.

That's what I am saying.... three days before the launch I would hope that the game would be a bit further along than what most of us consider "beta". Of course I realize with MMORPG's is a constantly evolving game.

Yeah I am hard to comprehend sometimes that is a given. I vote for no bugs yet I find it hard to believe that will be the case. I do have faith however.

Well, the 3-days before launch is a perfect way of the final beta test - test the servers with a lot of strain. Of course, your usual bugs and glitches should be ironed out, but this is all about server abends and stuff like that :D
Sooo.. technically, your 3 days before is still beta. I expect the accounts to be scrubbed when the game is officially released (not the pre-order).... but I'm not sure - it could be that the 3 days extra is an advantage bonus, but if thats the case and we are still promised acccess to beta - then we must be able to access the game before those 3 days.

I pre-ordered from gamestop 2 months ago, I called them to ask if they are getting the bonus bundles and they said yes. He said ballpark time frame is 2- 3 weeks.

I preordered from EBgames about a week ago, and they still have no idea whats going on with the pre-order bonuses. They said that they will call or email all their preorderers and let them know when the preorder bonuses are available. If anyone has anymore information about this, let me know.

They are probably going to do what World of Warcraft is right now. Things like it you subscribe for the $15 for three months of gamespy then you automatically get into the beta. With MxO I guess they'll just have you pre order to get in instead of doing things like subscribing to gaming website. Does anyone know how long MMOs normally stress test their servers? A week? A month? Several months?
