Post by: Anonymous on August 26, 2004, 01:01:59 pm: Be warned! My favorite sugar fix is in jeapordy. What will I do if they *gasp* go bankrupt?!? :p Really, they're big in the South, and in New York City they're a treasure to find. Any other Krispy Kreme aficionados here?

NEWS ALERT from The Wall Street Journal

August 26, 2004

Krispy Kreme's profit tumbled 56% despite an 11% increase in revenue and the doughnut maker cut its full-year sales projection. The company said it is not providing earnings guidance for the third quarter or fiscal year.

Entenmans rock...the chocolate ones, with the lil crumbs on em.............those are my all time fave, but, havent found them here. There was a small bakery w. Entenmanns like, wholesale shop, 2 blocks from my last place in OH. Good times.

Post by: Anonymous on August 28, 2004, 06:45:59 pm: From a financial standpoint, Krispy Kreme is an incredibly overblown and crappy company. If you remember, Krispy Kreme stock went up like tenfold in the past year just because they made doughnuts with more sugar than everyone else...

From a food standpoint, however, there's three Krispy Kreme's in my mouth at this very moment.

Post by: Anonymous on August 29, 2004, 03:50:18 pm: you know I live in Washington State where Krispy Kremes seem to be the second coming to most people but they've never heard of the oither things that make breakfast pastries great, like a kolache <sp?> thaose are awesome. Then again I moved up here from Texas so I think most Washintonians are a little off kilter ;)
