Johnny Mnemonic is one of my favorite B-movies.  Yea, It should have been alot better but it's still really good.  The only thing I really didnt like was the actress they used for Jane... she should have been closer to Molly/Sally from the Gibson novels.

Shadowrun was one of my favorite games for the Genesis, Johnny Mnemonic seemed to pull alot of content from the game, so I am a bit biased  :)

Neocron 2 seems to rip off a lot of Shadowrun.

Shadowrun was heavily influenced by the writings of William Gibson who is the godfather of  cyberpunk.  Johnny Mnemonic was based on a short story by Gibson.  Check him out.

Hey, that makes three of us.  My karma is only somewhere around 250 though.

As for staying on topic, I thought Real Genius was really funny.  I've never actually seen any other movie posted in this thread though.

How can someone like Hackers but not Johny N?  They are both low budget, totally cheesy, geek fests.

I love them both!

Blade Runner
Ghost in the Shell
Mindwalk  ( This is a fairly recent discovery of mine, a MUST see for anybody who likes exercising the noggin !  Not  'exciting', but GOOOOD!  Very analog, but, then again...some of the best things in life are! )

Nostalgic nod to TRON and indeed, Max Headroom!!

Campy?  Sneakers

'Hackers' had Angelina Jolie...but....just wasn't enough. There was that skinny blonde dude. He was funny. But, the curly headed kid who put that disk in that one place....annoyed the crap out of me even more than the rest.

I *want* to like Johhn N..........I mean it had Ice-T *AND* Henry Rollins...*AND* it was a Gibson......

But........I can't.

Gibson wrote "necromancer" on a typewriter listening to Vinyl records. I forgot which album it was, but something is telling me  it was "BOSTON" I am most likely wrong on that fact though.......

I am re-reading Necromancer..... Love that book.

I don't think anyone really came out and said it, but Hackers was awesome! You had to love that movie.

Oh, and THX-1138 was never originally released, as it was considered "too morbid" or some shit. They are just now releasing it for the first time. Looks good to me, its about a cold future in which love is forbidden and everyone works in this big factory thing that looks incrediblely like a prison. Of course, it is like prison, and these two people fall in love, but that's obvious. I'd like to see it and know what happens.
