I stopped shopping at Wal-mart long ago. I'll pay the extra 33 cents for each item somewhere else.

Dude, I shop at wal mart all the time. Im not gonna be cool and say "Yeah, wal mart sucks." It has everything I need, and I have a comp usa and EB games right next to mine, so I can do everything on one trip.

The wal-mart near me has slowly and steadly, stopped selling all the products i use...it was gettin to be a bare to drive out there for one particular thing and thinkin hey i can grab some other things...then when you get there...the main thing you wanted wasn't there.....
not only that, but no one who works there speaks english anymore either..so thats a hassle too...i just moved to a new place and theres a CVS down the street ...i shop there now..

Who said it was cool? Look at the companies structure and their aproach to Employee / Social / ethical issues. Why would you shop there?

I'm so sorry. I meant to say, in culture, it is socially accepted that not liking Wal-Mart is in. And, you know what, some of us shop there because we need a bunch of stuff, not just that one little thing, in which case, why the fuck are you at wal-mart?
And to that picture-That is the dumbest thing I've seen.
and, btw, Im not saying theres not better places to shop.....but when you dont have a bunch of money to spend and/or have a bunch of time on your hands, Wal-Mart is the place to shop. Except for music and games and movies.

If you want to say that not liking Wal-Mart is in Luv, look at the details. I too am against Wal-Mart. They move in and literally destroy the small local businesses, which is of course the supposed American dream, so can we say that they're killing America, or the American dream? Then again what is a dream other then a hope, and without hope there is no life, so you can say they're killing America BY killing the American dream. Sell your soul for a few bucks less if you wish, I however, will not.
Like I said, let's look at the facts. Wal-Mart has more lawsuits then it can ahndle, or can it, right now. They're among a very large class action suit from some previous, and if I'm not mistaken some current female employees stating that it was gender biased with its salary. Do I believe it? Yes. Why? Because look at the other things they're doing. Oh, just so you know, Wal-Mart has tried to refute that claim by putting up some of its women employees that they've shoved up to some "postion" just for tokenism. Please...
Anywayz also, as someone else has already said, they're hiring alot of immigrants. Although you can take this as "Oh they're just giving out of country people a chance," I however do not. I also believe, if I'm not mistaken, that Wal-Mart is under an investigation about whether or not they've been hiring immigrants without a greencard. Duh. They're either A. paying these people well below minimum wage, because we all know they're not getting paid more, or B. getting paid minimum wage. You may wish to believe A, but I however, do not.
Just the fact that they're willing to basically rape a people's history and culture is mere fact alone that the store needs some major moral renovation. Whoever that man is that is basically corwarding from riding 10 minutes each way to another Wal-Mart is a sell-out. I cannot believe he would condone a plunder of his culture for a 20 minute less ride. He disgusts me.
Finally, I wonder what that Mr. Smiley is smiling about, could it be the low wages that they're paying him, the plunder his people's culture, dreams, and life's work, or could it be that he's just retarded. Things to ponder...

Ok. Lets get rid of all Wal-Marts then. Even with all the "out branching", Wal Mart employs just about more americans then any other company. You say, "but the small business will hire them all back up". No it wont. If a Wal Mar goes out of business, nothing new comes up but a best buy or a Macys. In which case, only about half of the amount of people working at a Wal Mart would get their jobs back.
Unfortunately, I can see that this clan is a majority anti-Wal Mart faction, so Im not going to say crap and get me disliked because I think fuckin Wal Marts are good and you dont.

I 'used' to go to wal mart for everything...there was a wal mart right next to my apartment at college...open 24/7...i went there for any little thing i needed...at any given time..and it became habit...i need toothpaste...go to wal mart...oh well i'm here let me get batteries, toilet paper, hair dye, maybe some snacks...and it was great...then i graduated ...
moved back to the DC area...and i would laugh as i would see signs written by customers in the aisles..."its been 3 weeks and you are STILL out of such and such product" and i would chuckle to myself at the other misfortune...and would say something like...oh go to advanced auto parts if you need car stuff...
then i noticed ...wal mart was starting to not carry products i was using...let's take deodorant for example...i dont know about everyone else...but there are only a few i can use as i am apparently allergic to some chemical in most deodorants...so when i go to a store expecting to buy a product...i dont expect it to not be available anymore..I use degree gel, not some obscure brand...but i bite the bullet and went throught 3 other types before i found one that my body liked...
then i noticed they stopped carrying the type of shampoo i used...forced to change ...and it went on ...
no i didn't shop at wal mart for my grocery items...i went to giant or safeway or something whatever was in my town...wal marts lines were always too long when i didn't use the express lanes...=)
the non-english speakin isn't that much of a bother to me...except when i see 6 people standing around talkin to each other in a foreign language ..and i'm tryin to ask a question and they all stare at me... (this happens at wendy's too but thats another post...)
so ...reason i dont like wal mart is cuz of the one in the DC area....the one in state college PA (Penn State) kicks ass tho...

BY NO MEANS should your opinion on WAL-MART have any bearing on whether you are liked or disliked. If there were people in here that were that bitter and judgemental, would you want them as allies?
Your opinion is welcomed and accepted without any judgement from me, and I should hope, the rest of us.
I have shopped at WAL-MART based on their convenience and accesibility, we all have....
I was just making a point, by posting this topic, that they really need to work on their social/ethical ineptitude.
We all have our preferences towards products and services, we judge the merits of these products and services by our own experiences not others.
Please, do not hold back your opinion because of another post that disagree's with you. How do you know their right and your not?

ive only been to walmart a few times, i dont think i actually bought anything, but they did have a crap load of stuff. soooo i can't really say anything, i use to work for safeway, and they were a real competitor, not wanting them to build a large store near us, cause safeway sux lol. so thats where it stands now, i really dont care about walmart or anything like that, unless gamestop is going to have the preorder for my game and all the perks that come along with it, i will probably buy from them, as soon as i get a job and get my first paycheck thats exactly where its going, straight into mxo. wuhoo!

I would accept the excuse for spamming, except for the fact that you could look through the forums to see what were about. You dont need to make topics about Wal Mart and "how terrible it is"

Iluvitar I'm not looking to stir anything up here, but I hardly see how you are in the position to criticise Orangefro for creating spam threads, when recent threads you have made include "If you were a superhero, which one would you be" and "You know you're a geek when..", jumping down his throat like that was unnecessary, especially when all he was trying to do was setle into the group and get to know us a little.

Hmm...well I for one would congratulate Orangefro. Pathetic or not, as Syntax error stated you can only go so long with matrix topics before things begin to get boring (but I might have a few aces up my pocket ;) )
It has honest to goodness garnered some true responses, and can get you to thinking. Any topic that forces me to think, and tests my intellectual strength, in my case, deserves to be commended.
Good job OrangeFro - and in no wise are you unwanted.
BTW: Erebus your avatar is so freaky it's cool. I love looking at that thing - it's just so weird, although this may seem contradictory to my above statement...who cares?

I do, and on my school's computer which is a Mac, he's not moving at his proper speed, he's going 10x as fast, looking like he's on speed or something. It's very entertaining.
