Last week at CES, Gaben showed a line-up of various manufacturers and their own renditions of the Steam Box. Notably, high-end manufacturers Alienware (now a subsidiary of Dell), CyberPowerPC, and iBuyPower showed off their own versions of the SteamOS-powered devices. Of special note, the latter two were the only ones displaying hardware that was priced anywhere near current-gen retail prices; with Matrial.net, Falcon NW, Webhallen, Alternate, and Digital Storm giving estimated prices ranging from $1,000-$2,600. My friend went home to Auburn for the holidays and brought back some of his own 195-proof Alabama White Lightning. I think if we're stealthy enough we can slip some into Broin's drink without him noticing.

It's like running around capturing points in (insert game here) except instead of yelling at each other on TS, you can reach into the back seat and smack your teammate for being a dipshit.

Note to self: don't scare the shit out of my friend's SO's.

I love the idea of our own construct, but what sort of content would be hosted there that would draw people to it? Perhaps making a 'for fun' challenge that existed only in rift-space might be fun.

So, real talk time, as a part of my trek to Washington I've been looking at trade schools in the area.
Metropolitan areas are littered with these things, with anywhere from an 8-12 month intensive training program (this one being IT Networking) and a 95% job placement rate, it would land one with a company like Dell, Cisco, or even Google.
The downside is the 'going 40k into the hole' part, but I'm thinking that is a much smaller amount to be chained with in the long-term scheme of things, particularly when the jobs being offered net anywhere from 60-110k a year.
Take a look at a short-term trade school maybe? Take out a short-term student loan on it and still have an acting degree to fall on in the future? Just some of my own life plans that I thought might be worth sharing.

Move to Colorado and grow weed with me.

I was skeptical and was thinking the same thing earlier on, but portals are public and typically some kind of civil works building. Parks, firehouses, statues, museums, that sort of thing. I haven't seen a portal pop up on a Starbucks or McDonalds, yet.

Jesus christ, ten years already? I need this to happen in my life. I just want to drink, talk about life, play some games, and have fun with friends. Then I'm going to give Anamodiel a big sloppy REDACTED kiss.

Right now the last weekend in April is completely open for me. Thinking fly out thursday night or friday morning, fly back the next tuesday/wednesday? Longer? Shorter? Got crash space with your roomies or can we try to get a group rate on a nearby hotel?
Or hey, if anyone wants to drive near Texas on their way I can pitch in for gas money. I'll hit up Zephix and see if he wants to try and get down on this as well.
