Non-VR Games / Raiding in FA
« on: January 16, 2012, 08:32:49 pm »
1. Sage, DPS (have some points in seer so can offheal as well)
2. Varied.  I usually don't get the same days off from week to week.   I can pretty much guarantee I'll be available 9pm on, though.
3. If it's a raid that I can make and I've said I'll be there, I'll be there.  I'll put a 3 due to the fact that a lack of steady schedule makes it diffilut to raid at a consistent time.
4. 2.  Did some 40 mans and 20 mans in vanilla WoW before I quit.

In fact we have additional changes to classes and consumables currently in internal testing to deal with faster than anticipated kill times in player versus player combat in a future patch.

This MAY only refer to things like stacking the expertise PvP consumable with the expertise powerup... but I'm thinking scoundrels/operative DPS might see a light nerf, given their extreme burst.

As long as I spam the speeder pop I get within casting distance first.

Ditto.  Maybe you HAVE to be a Consular/Inq spamming the speeder and popping force speed, but I've never had a problem rushing east and laying down a Force in Balance to disrupt capping.

* In the Civil War warzone, make sure you always cap the node to your left first (great for Inquisitors/Consulars with the force speed buff). It is near impossible for the opposing faction to get there before you can cap it. Easy way to give your team a node right off the bat.

Not quite accurate.  You certainly can get there faster, but whether you can actually finish the cap is up in the air.

Even if you're past the point of no return, you give them hell before they win...

"If we have to give these bastards our lives, WE GIVE THEM HELL BEFORE WE DO!"

Manic, thanks for this.  I needed it today.  I joined a Hutball game and we were down 0-5 and the other team was camped.. on our goal line with the ball for over 5 minutes.  I repeatedly threw myself into the fray (and died a lot) for remaining time.

I kept thinking.. "If I'm going to lose, I'm going to give them hell before I do.."  Classic Mifune moment.

I'm not sure I proved anything out there other than I was the most stubborn player on the field but it sure was fun.

You proved you were FA.  Me, Lan'obi (Trushott) and Longboard really had a similar couple of trials.

The first warzone was a Voidstar.  We were defending first, and unfortunately the enemy managed to get a breakaway going, getting to the final set of doors before the reactor core with 4 minutes to spare.  But we didn't pack it in or just farm for kills, we kept to the doors , rushing back and forth as needed like madmen.  And wouldn't you know it, we held those doors right until the end. The Sith never broke through.  Then on our attack, we got a break away of our own, and ended up getting through and winning the match.

Then, we had an Alderaan where we capped west, but the Sith capped East and center.  They did a good job of defending for five minutes, until they had a huge lead on us.  Then, when a pugger managed to ninja east out from under them, we took advantage of their distraction to take center.  We ended up three capping them for the rest of the match.

Win or lose, not giving up is definitely the FA way.

I'm perfectly fine with the choices, but only as a Jedi.

For those choices that seem as though the actual "good" thing to do earns you dark points and the "bad" earns you light points, I just use in-universe reasoning to explain the game mechanics.  Each choice is literally labeled with Light or Dark, implying that your character knows which choice belongs to which side.  I take it as the Force guiding my character, even if he may not understand.  It may not seem like the right choice, but my character trusts in the Force that the Light side will prevail through his decision.

"Through the Force, things you will see. Other places. The futurethe pastold friends long gone." - Yoda

But for those classes without the built-in reasoning of the Force guiding their hand, those choices must seem a bit aggravating.

That's actually pretty much a Furious Angel's special connection to the Force entails: a built in moral compass, something telling you "This is light" or "This is dark"  when you come to a crossroads.  We know the light from the dark both when at peace and when bringing down righteous fury.

Good to see they're aware that people want premades to face other premades.  Hopefully they'll track valor ranking as well.

Something to add: my hair is not normally that short.  That haircut taught me that I look bad in short hair.

That is all.

Strod, run Ad-aware or other anti-adware/malware programs to do a sweep and try to find that bugger.

On an unrelated note...

For a second, I thought you meant "Saab."  I was about to say I didn't have one of those, sadly.
