3 men are traveling across country and decide to stop and get some rest. they stop at a motel and each pay $10 for their rooms. after a while the owner decides he charged them to much and called the bellboy down. the owner said, "i charged those guys to much, take this and split it between the three of them" and gives the bellboy $5. as the bellboy is walking towards their rooms he starts thinking, "how the hell am i gonna split $5 between three guys, i don't have any change..". so he pockets $2 and gives $1 to each of the men. Now each of them ended up paying $9 for their rooms. 9x3=27, if the bellboy has $2 that makes it $29. where'd the extra dollar go?

Well thats just really an odd way of presenting a problem to fudge the facts. 3 men give a total of thirty dollars to the manager. He gives back five so he has 25 and the bellman has 5. He gives them three and keeps two for himself. They paid 25 dollars total for the rooms, got three dollars, and the bell boy has two dollars and 25 + 3 +2 = 30 so im pretty sure that the dollar is still there. The problem just presents it in a way that makes it appear as though it has disappeared.

I got most of them except number 4, that one cunfused me alot...

Down the side of a boat the is a rope ladder.  At tide out there is seven rungs of the ladder above the water, the gap between each rung is 27cm and the tide comes in at a rate of 30cm an hour.  Full tide is in 2 hours, how many rungs will still be showing at full tide?
