well arch, just to enlighten you, on your earlier post about Benedict Arnold. He was cyborg chicken whom in the year 2135, betrayed the Confederate Colonies of Zion and then the machines kicked him out and he had no where to go. So on he walked through the world until he got bit in the testicle by a snake and died.

Since when does being loud, obnoxious and angry make one an historic figure?  He had a lot to complain and whine about, but I don't ever recall him presenting any reasonable solutions to the problems he bitched and whined about.   Blasting a bitch made n***a is not a valid solution either.

I'm gonna have to go with "no" on the Tupac/historical figure thing.  Tupac was merely your run of the mill loud mouthed, angry at the "white" world thug, who had decent lyrical skills and obtained some fame and notoriety due to his music and other activities, none of which were bad enough to be historically significant or good enough to have made a positive difference in the world.

Having said that, I do like some of Tupac's music, but I didn't particularly like him as an artist or how he went about expressing his issues.

I'd just like to point out that Tupac was only a run of the mill rapper who had hit it big for only a few minutes (in the scheme of things).  Had he not been gunned down, his career probably would have gone the way of Flava Flav, and he would be starring on the Surreal Life.  I dont know about you, but I dont consider Gary COleman to be a historical figure... do you?

Thats how I feel too. Hes only popular because he got shot and killed in such a messed up way. He was barely average at his time and he is only truly acknowledged because of his "posthumous" success.  I do not consider him a historical figure as he did not make a drastic change on the way we live our lives. All he did was bitch about how bad life in the hood and ghetto is, and not much has changed in rap music since then. In response to Arch, I teach myself at the University of Made-Up Insanity. You should enroll they have a great program thats better than Dade. LMAO

Tupac is a historic figure in the realm of pop culture.  No one will ever forget the Backstreet Boys but that doesn't make them an essential part of history.
