mxo.mastema is honestly a retarded drunk who was beaten by his dad (and mom) when he was a young child. His wife (if any) probably left him. He is by no doubt alone. He is most likely trying to cause pain to others so he can feel better.

I've seen how mxo.mastema reacts to situations. I've been watching him since October. He obviously has some issues.

one one hand i seriously would like to see this brought up on the boards because its complete BS. but on the other, more people would flock to the spy tree and cause them to have to react and nerf the tree. i think mastema really has no idea about the spy tree & retrieval / infultration missions. if those missions had 0% risk, then i would say that it needs to be changed. anyone that has ran those missions knows that they do give out kill objectives (kill one, or clear a room). tiz were you aborting the missions that required you to kill something? i know when i run these missions with spy loaded and run into a kill objective. i sometimes try it with my spy loaded and get lucky. when i die and go to the loading area i just load up MA and complete the objective then switch back to spy.

SO basically they are saying that that abilities that redpills have loaded for their particular profession are NOT allowed to be used for missions? They want to say they are for missions?

Spys are not allowed to use their disguises?
Whats the point of that in PvP with disguise?
You walk in a Merv faction meeting as a waiter.
I suppose the whole room ignores you and continues?

....
This is crazy.

1) Stick a REALLY EASY check on the random building distance: if less than 300m, get another. That way, no missions under 300m

2) Stick a penalty in for cancelling missions. Repeated abuse could lower you enough to lose your captain status!

3) Ok, open doors should disable invisibilty, but I think its a GREAT idea to have someone open the door for you, and distract the guards as you run past (you could almost do that with Evade Combat anyway).

Sure, there is a problem, but the 1) I listed is soo easy to patch, it MUST be, otherwise they have really coded this game a little silly... I feel that could be sorted NOW.
Invisibility? Again, instaed of penalising, either disable it for all users, or make a check if enter mission area, disable. Shouldn't be too difficult.

Its disgusting that they are doing this to paying members, its not abusing anyone, you could play the game without even realise you are doing this. People would use disguise in this manner as thats what it is for.

WAIT. Remember there is a differecene between DEVS and CSR's. The dev have done nothing wrong to us. It is the CSR's, who appeartly have not played the game throughly, who are fing us over. The line of communication is broken somewhere and that is what is hurting us. My bet is that CSR's work for WB, not Monolith. (Also, some CSR's do take the time to listen to us. If you notice the ban times are always around the same time and normally by the same person. It seems there is a bad CSR team. Eris, Relic, Walrus, are a few people we need to get ahold of first. Then report abuse for that CSR team.) 2cents.

Is this thread just to rant and rave, or are we going to do something about this?

Tbone contacted Walrus and if that doesn't yield results then I'm not opposed to doing what someone suggested on TS last night and that's to contact the Better Business Bureau.. We're now paying customers to a subscription that is banning us for breaking rules they have yet to make and not allowing us to explain ourselves before they do.  It's even unconstitutional.. there's a little rule called ex post facto

we cant do much without ACTUALLY going down to the head office and speaking to the csrs directly, they wont really listen to us, tbone is really the only one that might have a chance, and thats beacuse a dev will step in and hopefully bitch slap one of these csrs into shape and make them realize what their doing. if not, we might need to go to someone higher than the csrs and complain about how their treating their customers.

Hint: The constitution only applies to the federal and state governments, not private entities such as monolith or WB :p

A business can fuck its customers over if it wants, and unless it's flat out lying or breaking some specific regulation set out for a business of that type, they can do it, it's a private entity they own. The thing is, a business doesn't really WANT to fuck it's customers over, logically, because if it does, there's no repeat business and they lose out long-term.

I'll agree to this all being some of the worst bullshit I've seen, and I'll bet there's a rat in it somewhere, but don't place the blame just yet. If it IS a misscommunication it could be someone higher up that we haven't even had contact with issuing down edicts to the CSR reps and they're just trying to follow them. I do support work (billing support, and tech support in the past) and I can tell you right now, the average support rep has little leeway in making decisions involving users and circumstances.

They have a set of guidelines their superiors issue them for how to handle situations, such as say, avoid a refund at all costs if you can. Their job is then to handle issues as close to those guidelines as possible, and make up whatever BS they can to support that. A good support rep is a master of making up any sort of speech they can to get a person calm, pacified and maybe even satisfied with the company policy they're enforcing. If they're unsure about a situation, they go to their superior, describe the issue, and ask for clarifacation on what the right policy is for that situation.

They may be pressing the ban button, but they aren't probably the ones ordering it be pressed.

ok so i sent a petition to the people and here is the response i got back.

Response (mxo.masamura) - 04/03/2005 03:56 AM
Hello Jason;

Thank you for your inquiry. Currently, the Spy tree in and of its self is not at question, though at this time game balance is being reviewed. Rather, the use of 'training' missions to one building, or one very tight group of buildings, in order to reduce any possible travel or combat between missions, canceling and retraining the mission, or grouping missions to one building by training that is considered an exploit.

We apologize for the confusion surrounding this issue. To be concise as possible, again, using spy abilities on missions is not necessarily an exploit. Using spy abilities in general is not an exploit. Training missions to a sweet spot, grouping missions, canceling and reaffirming missions, and abuse of the mission system; the use of these loop holes is considered exploiting.

Again, thank you for your concerns, and for playing The Matrix Online.

MxO.Masamura\

and this is what i sent

One of my friends from the furious angels had been supended for a reason that i find kind of wierd. here is the response that hey recieved back.

At the time that you were suspended, we had observed you running repeated missions within a very small area, and using disguises and invisibility to bypass enemies in those mission areas. Doing so abuses a loophole in the game in order to level faster than was intended. In the notice that you received on the 25th of March, it was stated that further action would be taken if you were not found to be continuing that or any other exploit. What can and cannot be considered an exploit is often difficult to decide. If you are ever unsure whether a particular action could be considered an exploit, please submit a petition and ask a CSR. To ensure a faster response, please select "Conduct Violation" as the category. We would be more than happy to answer your questions, to ensure that you do not
get suspended in the future. Thank you, mxo.mastema

Now i was wondering what exactly is the spy tree used for and why do you have the infiltration missions? and if they were ment for us to bet up all of the npc then why is the spy tree so nerfed?

their trying to push away from that and say we were doing missions in a close proximity of each other, thats the only evidence they have, id ask for a public apology.
