Well :)  The internet is too big for us to police and you can never stop people from asking their RL friends for help.. The challenge is a challenge.. some people will try, some will succeed on their own, some will succeed with help and others will quit and fail.  It's a good thing there's a thorough interview process following the challenge... and based on the numbers Tbone gave me last night, only .3% of people who have tried the challenge have succeeded.  The world won't end and we'll know the jagoffs from the non-jagoffs.. afterall, they let me and you in :P

I know it is, but that does not mean we can't make the lives of those that seek outside help a lil harder now does it? Bombard them with tough questions at the interview, like who are you and what does your daddy do? :)

j/k, it's just that, being one of those 3% folks, kinda annoys me that others may be granted the privilege of an interview, based on THAT challenge that is supposed to be taken alone.
If I was to gather a group of people, brainstorm for answers to our riddles, well, would that be a challenge?
But I digress, I just found the site, I'll leave to those responsible for recruiting to do as they see fit.

I've also been bombarded in-game and in the RFZ IRC channel with questions.  Of course I give no answers (mainly because I have not yet tackled the new challenge and do not know what it even looks like yet.)  I usually give them the usual vague and general spiel, encourage them,  point them to the bluepill boards and wish them luck.

Its only natural that this path will remain "secure" for a limited time before we'll need to insert new components.  Some that complete the path, but are turned down after the interview,  will no doubt try to compromise the security of the process.  The process is not fool proof and there is really no way for us to keep people from seeking outside help.  However, if a few dishonest people slip through the cracks, their deceptiveness will soon reveal itself to us and they can be converted from Furious Angel to fallen angel.

Although its my humble opinion, I think that this guy who thought of getting help on a puzzle is not bad...(as long as he is willing to ADMIT he needed help)

After all, have you ever called on a coder for good clothing, or a few higher level FA to help you out at a HL with hostiles, or even people just to level with?

He got help with a puzzle...More importantly, he is solving the puzzle.  People able to solve puzzles on their own are wanted...but people who are resourceful and can use alternatives to solving things...they are my kind of people...Battles are won with resourcefulness....More Battles are never fought from using it wisely...
But honesty...he must be willing he admit he needed help with it.

just my $ .02

I agree with Yoda to a certain point.  However, when, in this specific challenge, we clearly tell people that this is a path that they must travel alone, then I think that is how they should handle it.......alone.

The only battle here is with one's own mind and that is a battle the one MUST fight alone.  If other people are doing the thinking for them, then it is not their own mental abilities/growth that get them through the challenge.

like we did with all puzzles, if you had help with it, it means your not worthy of this clan, at least back in the day, i remember a time when if you got help you couldnt join the clan, dont know if thats still in effect? i say if they need help with it, maybe their just not worthy?

Alone, this challenge you must face.
Your own battle, it is.

getting help with puzzles makes you not worthy to be in the clan?  Uh oh :P It took three of us back in the day to work through the original challenge, but I'm the only one of the three that got in/stayed.

hehe.

I'd just like to say those guys are really slow.

Maybe I just think that because I've seen 64bit before.
