Just an FYI.  It'd be interesting to ask each and every potential that gets past the challenge, at the interview, the origins of their name.  It may actually give you alot of insight into that person's thought process.

I understand what you guys are saying, but to be honest, I think this puzzle is a little too tough to expect the average person to know...i mean 64 and other bit coding...c'mon...
I don't mind the puzzles where the answer is there, you just have to look, think and try things out all the time...no problems there.
But when you are asking a person (who could be only 15 or 16 OR LESS!) to know code and/or Latin and stuff....it would have driven me to looking for help, anyways.
again, my $.02

....and that is why the Furious Angels isn't for everyone.  I think the decision to implement this challenge as it is, is one of the best methods of screening applicants that I've seen ever.  I'm sure we'll miss out on a few potentially good members this way, but this will also help to weed out potentially unfit members.  Its all part of the process.

....and yes, I've run a few clans/PAs/organizations for games and an MMO, so I do speak from a little experience.

I think we should just join pimprig to tell mercenary and mcnubbins what we think of this. What do you guys think. Or we could get Tbone to join and give him the no from the man himself.

He has been identified with multiple accounts.
Questions changed, and his account will be set to a section where he cannot proceed.

Oh, I am mean aren't I?
The warnings are there, he just messed up his own chances, and messed up other peoples questions.
Oh well, too bad!

I'm a total frickin rock star from mars.

Ah! Well done Ket! :D

Here are my points of view about this matter, for those that might care;

The path, as far as I know (that is the way I see it) as two purposes, to gather attention towards the Furious Angels, capturing the bluepills on the FA's background, who we are and what we stand for (hey! can actually say "we" now! eheh) bringing fresh blood to our ranks AND the screening process.

If one of the reasons for the Challenge to exist is in fact the screening process, then, how can we make that if the users bypass that by seeking outside help to SOLVE the riddles for them?
Personally I agree to what Yoda said about "being resourceful" but, only to an extent. One thing is to be resourceful, know how to look, how to search, how to understand, the other is just by posting a riddle on a random forum and asking "hey can anyone solve this for me?".
He does not say, "Someone said it was base64 and I cracked it" he says “someone cracked it for me, it was base64".

Of course we can't hunt down every bluepill, we can't search every forum on the internet, but I believe we can set examples like Ket just did.

The Path is yours and yours only. That is the way, right? That’s how I took it, but I am too stubborn and too proud to seek someone to solve the riddles for me. Seek hints? I did that, at the bluepill forums, that's what they are for.

Like some may have already heard me talking about, my best friend is going through the challenge. Here is the list of hints I gave him so far: "Follow the Angel", "seek help @ bluepill.followtheangel.org" and that's it. Nothing else.

I really don't want to sound, how should I put this, neither conceited nor arrogant by saying this but, I feel, I really do, that to be granted an interview, you have to EARN the privilege, if you want to be a part of FA you will have to work for it!
And again, not wanting to sound conceited, I earned my interview, and I worked to be a part of something that is special to me and I know it's special to you all.
If someone gains access to the interview because someone else solved most of the riddles for them, are they worthy of the FA tag?
Later on, if the Live team makes a riddle that we'll have to solve in order to progress or follow to the next step of a certain event, what will that person do? Go to a random forum asking "hey I play this game, MxO they have this riddle, help me out?"

Like it as already been said, eventually all the riddles will be known, because we have no way to stop people from sharing information, but imho, if it came to our knowledge that a certain user as "cheated" their way to the end of the quest, we should take action.

My 0.2

At the end of the day, the interview still shows us how they progressed.
We can double check their path details against the interview details.

zink, for as long as i've been here, we've never had an age requirement or kicked anyone because of age. number one reason people have been kicked is due to inactivity, and next maturity. maturity does not equal age. we've kicked just as many people above 18 as below 18 for them being immature.

i'm very tempted to reply, cuz it just annoys me to no end when someone solves something for you. it would be different if they just gave them the code to decrypt the messages, instead of just answering. i'm thinking a reply such as this?

Definately. We should send that to their email. Include the fact that we have tracked down information leaks that were traced back to them.

I'm sure we can figure out who this guy is by who solved that particular question at that particular day. Plus, i think he posted his next question.

If we can't figure it out, then lets sign up with that website and use the "Send message via email" option to that user.

i think it would be wiser to actually post on that board. not only will it be more intimidating, but it will show them that no matter where they go, we will find them. there was a second person asking for help there as well, so kill two birds with one stone

I like Grim's idea very much.  It will serve as a warning and add to the mystique of the Angels
