I am relatively new to forums, as in I have only been on them for about six months, and I was just wondering what some of the phrases used in forums such as *Bump* and, other ones..... please help us N00bs. This is only becuase it looks an awful lot like spamming to me. *Scans his eyes aroung suspisciously*

Bump is a shameless way to force  a thread back up to the top of a forum   =)

and N00bs or newbies etc are people who are new.  Ie. somone who might join the furious angels today would be considered a newbie.

Noob - shortened form of the word Newbie; used to refer to people who are either new or, mainly, to people who make mistakes that a new person would make

Bumb - You bumb the topic to the top of the forum. When you post it goes to the top for having the newest post. In the same way you could bumb someone higher into the air so that their ground impoact would be greater because they did not know wat this meant.

Yes, bumping is spamming.l its kind of like medicenal marijuana, its legal, but is is seriously[/b][/u] not reccomended, as it creates competition with new threads that need to be read.

Now for the defference between "noobs" and newbs".

n00bs- A user who has been told repeatedly of a mistake he needs to fix, yet repeatedly does it, often leading to party splits. Many times, being a n00b is not accidental, but rather a way for a frustrated advanced player who got his ass handed to him in a duel to vent frustration by getting others killed. Most often used on message boards(instead of mistakes, replace with "questions and reword) and MMOG's. You do not want to be a n00b.

newbs-Friendly, cute little creatures that roam outside their familiar terrain and explore other realms, and often unaware of what is going on. They ask questions, only once, and unless they are anwsered by a spiteful player who doesnt want more competition, get polite anwsers from a friendly advanced player, who often becomes a "friend" of the newb. Although everyone goes through this phase when entering a new board or game, you still dont want to stay in this phase.

Its kinda funny to see one of the highest non-admin posters make this thread. Actually, its more wierd than funny.
