Congrats man, have you gotten to your IFR part where they black out the windows yet?

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix will be showing in 3 hours and 45 minutes.

Tomorrow at work is going to be worse than having a hangover.

Not that I would know...

I'm seeing it at an IMAX theater on Saturday, and apparently the last 20 minutes are being shown in 3D. ;)

No, I only have about 10 hours total so far...and even that is Dual time. I need at least 40 hours to get my Private Pilots Licence (Why is it when I type P-P-L it says "PPL") then when I have 60 I can test for my instrument rating. I do plan on doing that, but it won't be for a few months. I'll update my blog about it tomorrow. http://www.lostlocalhost.com

Just seen harry potter and in the words of voldemort:

"I confess myself.... disappointed"

I just feel that the film didn't give much. The Ministry of Magic scenes at the end were awesome! There's much more to HP fighting than what meets the eye, it's not just pointing wands; it was amazing. Kreacher was handled beautifully so was Luna. They could've done more with the DA and maybe some quidditch.

My 2 cents; 4 out of 5 (I thought I would be giving it 5/5)

Dolores Umbridge was also exquisite! I was very happy with her character.

This movie could have been put into a 3 hour and 15 minute movie and probably would have been more capturing.

The part that I was most disappointed with was the final scene between Harry and Dumbledore... It was so underdramatic and only 30 seconds long. Jesus Christ, it was nearly two chapters in the book! We didn't get any yelling or screaming or see any real there... just the explanation from Dumbledore. It didn't feel right at all.

There was no mention of prefects. No St. Mungo's. We never saw Neville's parents. We never had any real sympathy for him. There was no time to build up tension about Harry's possible expulsion. There was about 110 pages of buildup in the book while they were at Grimmauld Place. The first 20 minutes of the film felt wasted. There was so much in Grimmauld that could have been showed.

While it was very good in it's own right as a movie alone, too much was taken out from the book for me to think of it as an excellent adaption. It was only an adequate adaption.

...And we will strike down upon those of Darkness, with great vengeance and Furious Anger, those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers.

that is why you never read the book first.  You gather up expectations that are sure to fall short when the movie is released.  As far as im concerned the book doesn't exist and the movie is all there is.  So in that point of view the movie was great.  But, I do agree with Subb quidditch should be in every movie lol it rocks.

Exactly, so much revolves around it.... Pirus (Harry being banned from it etc.) Also, Mungos.... I can see why that was cut, but you do see Neville's parents in the picture. Even as the macho man I am, I found Sirius' death very sad

SPOILER:

Anyone take note of what luna said at the end? "My mum always used to say that when you lose things, they'll always turn up when you don't expect them" J.K Rowling said that there's a hint in the film of what happens in the 7th one. My guess: Sirius is back for the 7th book.

J.K. Rowling goes by comic book rules... no body = no death.

Be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.

Oh please, Subb, Dumbledore is coming back in some form or fashion. Sirius is staying dead.

Nerp, JK Rowling said to Dan Radcliffe on set that Dumbledore was giving her issues and when he asked if he'd be coming back she said no he's dead but it's a little more complicated than that. Think about it, she's refused to comment on Sirius but put her hands down about Dumbledore being dead. Aaaannnndddd, she nearly let slip about harry's heritage... or shall I say ancestor? :)

Can't wait for the book T_T

I somehow get the feeling that her answers to the Dumbledore question had been rehearsed a long time. She has a loophole somewhere in what she's saying... We just haven't figured it out yet. There is just too much against evidence to the otherwise saying that Dumbledore is not dead.

Oh, and you must mean Harry being the ancestor of Godric? That's very possible.

I haven't read any of the books.  I just enjoy the movies. :)

My girlfriend and her mother have both read all the 6 books out as of now, and have complained about all 4 movies thus far.

To me, it's just seems stupid to ever think that a movie adaptation will be anything close to what has been portrayed in a book the movie is based on.

You can't fit 800+ odd pages into a two and a half hour film in it's entirety.  Directors, storywriters, and producers have to pick and choose key moments that they think are the most important, even sometimes shortening moments that people feel should have been longer, or more drawn out.  It happens.  That's movie-making.

For people to get upset about it at this point, when there have been so many books-to-movies in which the same thing always happens, is just ridiculous.
