Welcome to the Furious Angels website! This community is devoted to promoting online gameplay with fellow virtual reality gamers. Not only do we provide a place for VR gamers to find others to game with, but we also provide feedback to Oculus and other game developers on what works and doesn't work in this new and uncharted platform that is VR! Please feel free to take a look around, and we hope you'll consider joining our community!

Virtual reality, by its nature, tends to make people want to share the experience. It's so unique and so real that it really does feel like you are somewhere else. Being in a virtual world that is cut off from everyone can get lonely - you don't even have access to your phone or IM, things you are used to always checking. By joining a community of other VR gamers, you can share your virtual experiences with an online community. Make virtual friends who will give you a good reason to never play "Alone in VR" again! Know where the community is - which servers, which games!

One of the handicaps to gaming in a virtual universe is the difficulty in communication. Typing can by tedious. The easiest solution is voice communications. We have our own Teamspeak server dedicated to our community. You can easily accomplish complex goals or give and take orders with our voice comms. No more peeking out from under your headset to find your keyboard!

Are you addicted to surfing r/Oculus? Do you find you spend more time looking at VR articles than actually gaming in the headset? Stay up-to-date here as an active community keeps track of what's relevant and what's not! Know about the hottest demos and the best tweaks! Here you can get the support you need while helping others!

We're taking the first steps towards integrating VR applications into the every day functionality of the guild. Besides using Oculus' own social features, we're always looking at the newest social applications. VRChat, JanusVR, AltSpace, RiftMax...the list will continue to grow!

Let's be honest - VR is an infant. There is a LOT to learn. We are getting in on the ground floor. By becoming a full member of the Furious Angels, you will get priority on exclusive Betas for online VR games. We plan on working closely with game developers as well as the Oculus devs to provide feedback on what works and doesn't work in VR. Our area of expertise will be online interaction, team building features, ease of use, and other categories that relate to guild-like functioning in online VR. If you've always wanted to help influence the standards of online gaming, now is your chance!

Tonight at the Bethesda E3 2016 briefing, Bethesda announced that two if its latest games, Fallout 4 and Doom, are getting virtual reality versions.

Fallout 4's VR edition will launch in 2017 for the HTC Vive, though Bethesda did not announce a release date or platform for Doom's VR version.

During a post-briefing livestream, Bethesda talked about its ambitions for the Fallout 4 VR version.

"Let's not make a short version of Fallout 4--the promise is the whole game," game director Todd Howard said.

Tonight we will be moving our website and services to a new server in order to improve stability. A bunch of us just received our Rifts, so if you want to join us, you can find the Teamspeak server at the normal address!

...and it ain't pretty. Most orders have now been delayed by close to two months from their original estimated shipping date. I personally was expecting mine early to mid April and am now slated for the last week in May to the first week in June. No explanation yet from Oculus other than the original "component shortage" email.

### Incoming Transmission ###

We see that you are on the verge of taking the dive. It's the Wild West all over again - the Final Frontier brought into your home. We are all explorers, fighters, survivors. There are those who will flourish in this new world and there are those who will fall. Which will you be?

We see your potential. We see what the virtual you is capable of. You've known this about yourself your entire life. Like us, you just had to wait for the technology to get there. Your reality is now truly what you make of it. It's time for you to soar like a Furious Angel - to find your place among the best. Are you a pilot? An explorer? A driver? A fighter? Regardless, you are NOT alone.

We are stronger together. The 0's and 1's on a screen that limit and separate us are slowly fading away. There's a lot of work to be done and a lot of fun to be had. Will you be a dinosaur of a dying age or will you transform and evolve to fly with the Angels?

The choice is yours.

If you pre-ordered the Rift, you probably received this email today:

We know you're anxious to receive your Oculus Rift and apologize for not updating your order status sooner. We've been working through an unexpected component shortage, and unfortunately, that issue has impacted the original shipping estimates for some early customers.

We're working hard to get up-to-date ship windows, and you should expect to see your order status updated on by Tuesday, April 12. Although many Rifts will be arriving on schedule and in line with original estimates, we'll be covering shipping and handling costs for all orders placed through today.

We're shipping rifts everyday. Don't hesitate to reach out to the Oculus support team if you have additional questions.

The Oculus Team

So there you have it! The delays are real. No one is sure what the "component shortage" is (best guess so far has to do with the Xbone controller), but Oculus is hopeful that they can course correct in the next two weeks. The free shipping is a nice gesture, though I'd personally pay $30 to get my Rift a month sooner. We should know more before April 12th, but I'm expecting everyone's shipping window to be pushed back at least a bit.
