I like just commander; a jedi can still be a commander in a military sense. Fine, you lose the master but the master commander moniker sounds a little tortured.

I agree with NoCry, but in SW canon a Padawan was a commander in the Republic Army. A knight was a General and a Master was High General.

I don't really like using "High" or "Grand".

More to what Subb has stated...

http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Military_rank

Quote
The highest rank in the Grand Army of the Republic was that of Commander-in-chief, of which the Minister of Defense was civilian commander (in fact only) of the Republic Uniformed Services. During the Clone Wars, this position was held by Supreme Chancellor Palpatine, effectively giving him complete control of both the Galactic Senate and its new military.

The Jedi of the Republic also had military ranks during the Clone Wars, the highest being High General, given to the Jedi Masters who sat on the Jedi High Council. Notable holders of the title included: Yoda, Mace Windu, Oppo Rancisis, Plo Koon, Even Piell, Depa Billaba, Saesee Tiin, Ki-Adi-Mundi, Shaak Ti, Adi Gallia, Maks Leem, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Agen Kolar, Kit Fisto, Stass Allie and Coleman Kcaj.

High Commander or even just Commander sounds good.   Perhaps Lieutenant Commander for the second in command?

This is what I was thinking. Commander and Lieutenant Commander

Don't believe everything you think.

I guess I'll just go with Commander and Lt Commander for now. It doesn't sound very Jedi-ish, though. I feel like I should be a trooper now...

[nerd]Seraphim and Archangel are two different things[/endnerd]

I was thinking along the lines of Roman titles, but they don't fit... Praetor etc.

Got me there, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christian_angelic_hierarchy but this does provide an interesting structure.
Other hierarchical structures that could be used would be the english traditional hierarchy or possibly a Japanese hierarchy reminiscent of the early Jedi fighting with metal swords.

Even thou you don't like using High... It is canon... So personally I think it should be High General instead of Commander... Plus Jedi's are the Generals and High Commander just don't quite make it :P. Just my 2cents

If I had the source code... Life would be easier.
