I believe ArenaNet re-opened their digital purchase option if you want to purchase from the main GW2 site.

Leveled a Warrior to 15, but now I'm going back and leveling a Thief. I think I like the Thief better. Currently looking at doing a dagger/dagger, shortbow build.

If you're leveling a thief I'd encourage you to look at pistol/dagger as well.

I also like dual pistol and dual dagger.  Fun stuff.

Hutch has a thief at 80, he might be a good source for thief goodness.

Rifle Warrior.

In all seriousness, none of the mage classes are truly great at blowing faces off in the traditional sense.  I suppose a Dagger/Dagger Elementalist can do, but it's super-squishy and needs to be practically right on top of the target.
Melee Mesmers suffer the same problem, but Distortion can give him a few seconds of invulnerability (up to 8 if you do it right).
Phantasm Mesmers can reach absurd levels of damage, but you'll never reach peak DPS in PvP or even against most dungeon bosses.
I'm least familiar with the Necromancer, but from what I've read they are much better at surviving and being condition-whores than straight damage.

Burst damage is simply not within the realm of magic in this game, though we more than make up for that in other ways.

That's what i run for sPvP currently. I go for specific targets and straight up vaporize them. I would almost always recommend Shortbow as a swap because the AoE poison and bleed coupled with the escape utility makes it a tough weapon to get rid of.

Thieves have a lot of viable builds depending on the situation though.

WvWvW pvp is no joke.  You actually have to stratagize or get the whole realm to listen to one person and zerg like mad.  I have seen the number 3 realm Jade Quarry get pissed off and lose garrisons and forts to just try and cripple us while we are fighting Henge because they are spitful we beat them.
