Lil help - Midi files...

Anyone out there any good making music with MIDI?  Reason I ask is I've ripped some music from a DVD, run it through a MIDI converter and trimmed out all the background noise but it needs polishing.... and I just can't seem to do it.

If anyone out there has some even basic skills in MIDI programming and cold help lil ole me, please drop me a line!  Cool ringtone in it for you if you succeed :P

Cheers

I'd pop it into my keyboard and convert the instruments and such as needed to tweak it, but I'm gonna be out of town real soon, and up til I leave my time has been much jeopardized schedulewise. :) I'd imagine there's at least 1 other keyboard player or midiman somewhere in the faction though. :)

That would be nice wouldn't it... if I hadn't deleted it off my desktop like the pratt I am.  I shall try and recover it from my phone later on.  D'oh!

Edit: Here it is.  For the most part it's okay, but a couple of the notes sound clipped - especially the one at the end - and I can't figure out how to extend them...

You don't want to hear the original, it stank worse than this rip - this is what I was left with after I took out all the b/g noise.  If you want I can re-rip it to a WAV file, you can take it from there if you wanted to?

i was just curious, sounded like it was from a video game or something. Im all about the video game ringtones, my main ringtone for the past year and a half has been http://www.hackutah.org/public/LightWorld.mid
Best ringtone ever. Sounds even closer to the real thing when being played on a phone. :)

Yeah, WAV wouldn't hurt at all. If you don't mind putting in the one with all the b/g noise as well then that would help.

Will try and rip it tonight if I get a chance, but I have to gut my PC for a little while to sort out a problem with DVD volume/TS volume/MxO volume all being way off each other

K, here it is direct rip from the DVD, so if it sounds crap listen to the original :p

The one I was trying to convert to MIDI (not the full song)
The one at the beginning, longer but with much more interference

You know, I was thinking that.  I tried to shrink it but it didn't work, and I saw a few people had big ones (phnar phnar) but that's no excuse... back to the original I go :)
