Bah!! I wanted to search (or post a thread depending if it hasn't been discussed, which i doubt) about whether they have thought about creating a more in depth system for faction rather than just "If you attack anyone in your alliance your flagged to them and enemies".

In EQ2 there was a system that if you wished to betray your city and faction, you'd have to go through a series of quests. From there you'd become flagged to both until your faction rose for the opposing faction you wish to join.

Simple Example:

a Dark elf wishes to leave the city of Freeport (Evil), betrays and stays in this Haven (Neutral) until you'd complete quest to raise faction for the city of Qeynos (Good)

I've been dying to post or look for someone talking about this...

Well according to the forums

This is one of the threads, couldn't find the other one for some reason... Will edit once found.


There really isn't a good/bad class... Only alliances.


Due to this they don't really have an implementation of an alliance switch. The current alliances only really apply to the NPC cities but of course won't apply to say, player made cities.

Now supposedly this alliance system is just to get us started and will be null later on in the game once personal and more i guess "real", if you will, alliances are made that are purely based on players.

That's what i've gathered anyway. If you wish to be Mahirim and in FA, do so. Just be prepared for the consequences earlier on during the many stages of NPC interaction and such.
