Annoyingly, this doesn't work for me.  I have tried a number of things i.e Uninstalling it, reinstaling it, bashing my computer, yelling lots, punching the screen etc.. yet it still gives me this shit:

This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.

Well here's some news; IT FUCKING DOESN'T!

I'm unable to log into msn as well, so maybe it's just a problem with some server or something. It'll probably work tomorrow.

Oronos: M$ is evil. Therefore, all products made or published by them are inherently evil. AOL products also are evil. With the exception of MxO, of course (I hope...).

It was working earlier today, and by that I mean before 12:00 GMT, but it stopped working afterwards (just to confirm all the other posts) (again)

No it's not seeming to be a server issue, I'm pretty sure somthing is fucked at my end.  That thing still comes up and each time it does I get a little angrier, soon I will match the Hulks' rage and I will literally rip my computer apart.  Untill then however I am going to keep finding out wh it isn't working.

This pretty much sums it up...

Evidently, the MSN Messenger was vulnerable to attack (not MS, you say?!?).  The issues for the last two days were a result of a lame virus.  It spreads through you contact list like an e-mail-bourne virus & configures you to be redirected to a certain site if you attempt to go to one of about 900 sites.  The 'maintenance' was the server side patch, I'm assuming.

When you get a msg like that, just wait for like an hour or two. MSN is just doing service to the messenger. I'd rather use MSN then AIM because MSN has tons moe features then AIM. Evil or not,  just look at the better product.

Well, here's some good news.  It's still fucked.  I am now using the first ever version of MSN Messenger like ever.  It's pretty crap but at least I can still talk to my friends on it.  Perhaps I should delete the whole thing off my system then try again, that might be where the problem lies.
